However, these five guys are poised for big junior seasons and should start to see their recruitment pick up this winter. We started with the point guard position yesterday, cover the wings in this post and then go over the forwards/posts tomorrow.
Jake Davis Jake Davis 6'6" | SF Cathedral | 2023 State IN (Cathedral H.S. 2023)
There are some players that just impact winning in a positive way. Davis is absolutely one of those guys. He has great size at 6’5″ on the wing with a physical build. The primary skill with Davis is that he is one of the best shooters in the state. of Indiana. He is the type of guy when you think every single catch-and-shoot three is going to go in. College programs that are still wondering if they should get involved, I would recommend just diving in. He plays for winning program at Cathedral and nearly went undefeated on the 3SSB circuit this summer with Indiana Elite. Go ahead and offer him now!
Aidan Franks Aidan Franks 6'2" | SG Wapahani | 2023 State IN (Wapahani H.S. 2023)
Franks can flat out score the basketball. He isn’t the biggest guy physically by any means at just 6’1″ and probably 155 pounds, but in terms of pure basketball skill he is at a really high level. Franks can shoot it anyway you want. He is great coming off of screens, on the catch-and-shoot, and can create his own shot off the bounce from beyond the arc. There isn’t explosiveness athleticism, but he is quick in a straight line with the ability to drive it hard and finish with both hands. Expect a huge junior season from the scoring guard.
Ben Henderson Ben Henderson 6'3" | SG Harrison | 2023 State IN (Harrison H.S. 2023)
Henderson really stood out to me over the summer for Indiana Ice 2023 getting to play on the Gold Adidas Gauntlet. The 6’2″ guard is very athletic and has the strength to get up and finish through contact at the rim. Very good finisher around the basket off of the dribble. He has a lot of game off of the dribble that can score it from all three levels but really excels around the basket. Very good rebounder from the wing as well. Poised to have a breakout junior season.
A.J. Lux A.J. Lux 6'3" | SG Crown Point | 2023 State IN (Crown Point H.S. 2023)
A 6’3″ guard, Lux had a very strong summer for Indiana Game Premier on the Prep Hoops Circuit. Lux can really shoot it from beyond the arc with a quick release and the size to get it off against hard closeouts. He continues to develop off of the bounce as well with a good handle and the ability to finish in a variety of ways inside. Especially if and when he grows a couple of more inches I would expect Lux to be a highly sought after shooter coming out of Crown Point.
Spencer White Spencer White 6'5" | SF Carmel | 2023 State IN (Carmel H.S. 2023)
White did already receive his first Division I offer from Coastal Carolina, but there should be plenty more coming his way over the next year or so. The 6’5″ wing is extremely athletic with the explosiveness you would want both laterally and vertically. Love his length and physical ability on both ends of the floor. After his great summer playing with Grassroots Indiana, White should have a strong junior season at Carmel.
