However, these five guys are poised for big junior seasons and should start to see their recruitment pick up this winter. We will start with the point guard position before moving on to wings and then forwards/posts.
Dylan Doss Dylan Doss 5'10" | PG Heritage Christian | 2023 State IN (Heritage Christian H.S. 2023)
The 5’10″ point guard transferred over to Heritage Christian from Cathedral and will now run the backcourt with his INB Elite teammate Myles Colvin Myles Colvin 6'5" | SG Heritage Christian | 2023 State #51 Nation IN . Doss is an excellent shooter that can makes tough ones off of the dribble and shows off his range making deep ones behind the ballscreen. He plays with good pace, can turn on the quickness when getting downhill, and has a variety of floaters and layups to finish inside. This guy can really, really score the basketball. Doss is one that schools should have on their list right now.
Jamie Hodges (Michigan City H.S. 2023)
Running the point for Indy Heat 16u, Hodges showed off his playmaking skills on a national stage throughout the summer. Hodges is a small lead guard with a bunch of explosiveness off of the dribble. He can get by his man quickly and has real burst on his way to the rim where is an effective, creative finisher. He also has great vision which allows him to make the right play for his teammates when it is there. Good on-ball defender too with excellent hands. Hodges recently announced he would return to Michigan City instead of transferring to Elevation Prep as originally planned earlier this summer.
Jaylen Mullen Jaylen Mullen 6'0" | PG North Daviess | 2023 State IN (North Daviess H.S. 2023)
Mullen did a great job running the show for the super-talented Grand Park Premier 16u squad on the UAA Rise circuit this summer. The 6’0″ point guard is incredibly skilled with the ball in his hands with the ability to make any play you want. He shoots it extremely well both off the catch and off the dribble, can finish going to the basket, and is a good passer setting up his teammates. Mullen is a three-sport star (tennis and baseball) that should attract a lot of intention through his junior season.
Marcus Northern Marcus Northern 6'2" | PG South Bend Washington | 2023 State IN (South Bend Washington H.S. 2023)
Northern is a physical 6’1″ guard that can really be effective playing on or off the ball. He has a tight handle and natural playmaking tendencies which makes him a great lead guard, but there is plenty of scoring ability to his game as well. Running with Indiana Game Premier, Northern also proved to be one of the best on-ball defenders in the class with the length and hands to be very disruptive on that end of the floor. Already a major varsity contributor early in his career, Washington should start hearing from Crossroads League schools and more this winter.
Sheridan Sharp (Ben Davis H.S. 2023)
The Ben Davis point guard might be poised for the biggest leap of anyone on this list. Sharp played very well with the Giants in June and then with George Hill All Indy through July. The long 6’1″ guard is excellent off the bounce with the athleticism to get up and finish around the rim. Very hard to stop when he gets headed downhill. Creates his own shot from the perimeter as well where he is a good outside shooter. Love his length and overall playmaking ability. It wouldn’t be shocking to see Sharp earn a Division I offer before the end of his junior season.
