Today, we start a series highlighting players in each class that are under-recruited or under-appreciated coming out of the summer. Let’s begin by highlight five Indiana guards in the Class of 2022 that are currently being under-recruited.
Britain Harris Britain Harris 6'3" | SG Bosco Institute | 2022 State IN (Bosco Institute 2022)
Harris is one of the best playmakers in the state of Indiana that doesn’t get the attention that he deserves. The 6’2″ quick-twitch combo guard can really do it all off of the dribble. He is a good shooter off of the bounce and can hit them behind the ballscreen. With the ball in his hands he has a quick burst that allows him to create separation and create his own shot with ease. Harris gets downhill fast and has the explosiveness to get up and finish around the rim. Excellent passer as well on his way to the basket. Just an all-around great talent offensively. Currently reports offers from Cleveland State and St. Francis (PA). This is a guy that should be picking up many more low-major offers.
Aidan Lambert Aidan Lambert 6'3" | SG Snider | 2022 State IN (Snider H.S. 2022)
Earlier this summer Lambert attracted a ton of buzz after pouring in 52 points in the first game of the Charlie Hughes Showcase. Following that performance there were some Division I schools that followed him around for a bit, but nothing solid ever came his way. The 6’2″ athletic guard can really score the basketball. He is an efficient three-level scorer that is explosive off of the dribble and has a nice shooting stroke from beyond the arc. Lambert is a scholarship worthy guard that D2/NAIA schools definitely need to evaluate and recruit.
Branden Northern Branden Northern 5'11" | PG Silver Creek | 2022 State IN (Silver Creek H.S. 2022)
Programs that need a point guard should be all over the Silver Creek floor general. Northern was great over the summer running the show for D1 Indiana on the UAA Rise circuit. The 5’11″ guard is one of the best passers in the state and will compete to lead the state in the assists this winter as a senior. He attacks the basket relentlessly off the bounce and creates plays for his teammates as he penetrates. Northern plays with pace, can makes shots from the perimeter, and is a great finisher inside despite being a smaller guard. Scholarship offers should be coming in for him.
Dayveon Turner Dayveon Turner 5'11" | PG Arsenal Tech | 2022 State IN (Arsenal Tech H.S. 2022)
Turner is a big-time scoring lead guard with very good shooting ability. Running in the backcourt for Team Teague all summer, the 6’0″ guard showed his ability to score it against some of the best competition in the country. Excellent playmaker with good vision to create scoring opportunities for his teammates. One of the best guards in Indiana without an offer. Can make all the plays you need on the offensive end.
Jordan Turner Jordan Turner 6'3" | PG Cardinal Ritter | 2022 State IN (Cardinal Ritter H.S. 2022)
This 6’3″ athletic point guard is super athletic and finishes at a high level up around the rim. Turner is still developing a more consistent outside shot, but off of the dribble he is really hard to stop from getting into the paint. I love his explosiveness around the rim as a very creative and efficient finisher inside. He recently received a big jump in his recruitment earning a D1 offer from Bethune-Cookman, but this is a guy that should have in-state NAIAs and D2’s coming in hard. Absolutely a scholarship player.
