1. Jackson Paveletzke Jackson Paveletzke 6'1" | CG Kimberly | 2022 State WI – Kimberly
A lethal scorer and facilitator, Paveletzke is as skilled as it gets in this 2022 class. Type of prospect that if he were 6-foot-3, everyone would want him. As it stands now, Paveletzke can be an absolute killer at the mid-major level. He holds scholarship offers from UW-Green Bay, St. Thomas, Bryant, Southern Illinois, William & Mary, and Wofford. Leading Kimberly to a runner-up finish in the Division 1 state tournament, Paveletzke averaged 19 points and six assists per game, alongside another Division 1 recruit.
2. Colin Hardrick Colin Hardrick 6'3" | CG Wauwatosa West | 2022 State WI – Wauwatosa West
Hardrick will probably reclassify to the 2023 class and his Division 1 offers, UW-Green Bay and Grambling State, are expecting him to do just that from what we know. The senior guard just turned 16 and is coming off a monster summer on the AAU circuit. He’s picked up interest from the likes of Iowa State, Valparaiso, Butler, and South Dakota State as well. The lefty has one of the best mid-range games in the state and is an instant-offense type prospect who doesn’t take his foot off the gas pedal. While playing in a loaded Greater Metro Conference, Hardrick averaged 22 points and six rebounds per game for the Trojans as a junior.
3. Kenny Garth Kenny Garth 6'2" | CG Westosha Central | 2022 State WI – Westosha Central
Going into his senior season, Garth is generating interest from Bemidji State, Valley City, St. Norbert, UW-Platteville, UW-Oshkosh, Carroll, and Carthage. Garth averaged 13 points and nearly three assists per game while sharing the backcourt with a Division 1 prospect. An intriguing player, Garth is a strong, athletic, 6-foot-3 combo guard with a terrific pull-up game. He’s a three-level scorer that can shoot off screens or put his head down and attack the rack.
4. Ryan Sweeney Ryan Sweeney 6'2" | CG Gb East | 2022 State WI – Green Bay East
UW-Oshkosh, UW-Platteville, St. Norbert, Loras, and Missouri Valley College are the schools most involved with Sweeney at the moment. Sweeney averaged better than 20 points per game as a junior in a tough Bay Conference. He’s had one of the biggest spring/summers in the state, rising into the top 40 of the rankings. A transition threat who can fly in the open floor, Sweeney’s jumper is rapidly improving as well as his scoring tools around the rim and feel for the game. If he does fall to the Division 3 level, think Sweeney could be a building block type recruit, even in a conference as good as the WIAC.
5. Joah Filardo Joah Filardo 6'1" | CG Mineral Point | 2022 State WI – Mineral Point
Wisconsin Luthern, Rose-Hulman, UW-Platteville, Ripon, and Winona State have all made contact with Filardo since the summer. Like a lot of prospects in the Western part of the state, Filardo flies under the radar a bit despite being a four-year varsity performer who averaged nearly 18 points per game as a junior in a stacked SWAL Conference. Filardo is a strong guard with a knack for getting tough buckets against contact. He also rebounds very well for his position and isn’t afraid to fight amongst the trees.
6. Jake Fisher Jake Fisher 6'1" | CG Oconomowoc | 2022 State WI – Oconomowoc
Fisher listed Minnesota-Crookston, Minnesota-Duluth, Bradley, Winona State, Valley City State, St. Leo, and the University of Indianapolis as the schools expressing interest. A skilled, high-IQ prospect, Fisher is one of the most cerebral players still on the board, not just as the guard position, but in the state as a whole. Coming off a breakout season, Fisher put up 20.5 points and 2.8 assists per game as a junior. A guard that can do a little bit of everything on the floor, Fisher is a high value prospect that brings all-around ability and leadership.
7. Matt Imig Matt Imig 6'0" | CG Aswaubenon | 2022 State WI – Ashwaubenon
Imig is a lights out shooter, but also has plenty of speed on the ball, able to knife into gaps and score at the rim despite being an undersized combo guard. Imig averaged 14.6 points and nearly six assists per game for a 20-6 Ashwaubenon squad that features a Division 2 wing prospect. Imig also shot an impressive 45.7 percent from downtown, connecting on a whopping 80 triples last season. Imig listed Black Hills State, Palm Beach Atlantic, Valley City State, UW-Oshkosh, Wisconsin Lutheran, St Norbert, MSOE, Lawrence, Loras, and Carrol as the schools currently recruiting him.
8. Chris Mitchell Chris Mitchell 6'1" | CG Notre Dame | 2022 State WI – Notre Dame
Grand Canyon, Kentuck Wesleyan, The Citadel, and Rockhurst are some of the programs eyeing Mitchell at this time. Mitchell averaged just over 12 points per game as a junior for Notre Dame and showed some flashes of being able to put up big numbers throughout the summer. Able to score quickly in possessions without requiring a ton of dribbles, Mitchell thrives in the 12-18 foot range where he can get to his spots in rhythm, rise, and fire over defenders.
9. Zach Steigenberger Zach Steigenberger 6'0" | CG Appleton East | 2022 State WI – Appleton East
Steigenberger is looking hardest at Wheaton College, Carthage College, and Carroll. Playing on a stacked AAU team, Steigenberger defers a lot to his teammates, but can certainly score the ball. He led Appleton East last season at 14 points and four assists per game. Thought earlier in his career, Steigenberger was more of an off-ball scorer, due to his knockdown 3-point shooting ability. He’s certainly proved capable of handling point guard duties as well, showing skill, speed, vision, and ability to play low to the ground.
10. Jalen Womack Jalen Womack 6'2" | CG Menasha | 2022 State WI – Menasha
Missouri-St. Louis, Mayville State, and Minnesota-Duluth are all tracking Womack going into his senior season. Coming off a breakout season, Womack put up 18 points, seven rebounds, and eight assists per game as a junior. Capable of absolutely exploding offensively, Womack shot 52.5 percent from 3-point range. He had four games in which he scored 25 or more points. Womack was asked to do a lot for Menasha last season, which may have contributed to some inconsistency. If Womack has a steady senior season and improves his 3-point shooting numbers, there’s a good case for him to be top 6-7 on this list, if not higher.
