The Gretna shooting guard will be a wonderful compliment next to Landon Pokorski Landon Pokorski 6'2" | PG Gretna | 2024 State NE this season. Frost moves well without the basketball, which Pokorski will reward. He is also a terrific shooter in catch and shoot situations and off movement. He is a bit undersized at this point, but he holds his own on defense by competing and using smart positioning.
Asher Endorf Asher Endorf 6'4" | SF Kearney | 2024 State NE | SF | North Bend Central
Endorf brings length and athleticism to the court which make him a dangerous option in transition situations. He runs the floor well, has good hands, and can finish at a high level. He is a very active defender who can switch onto guards and flip his hips well when defending skilled ball-handlers.
Clayton Gauff Clayton Gauff 5'9" | CG Bellevue West | 2024 State NE | CG | Bellevue West
The difficulty many young guards experience is finding a balance between scoring and creating. It seems Gauff Jr. is more comfortable than most floating between those two responsibilities as a lead guard. He can beat his man at the point of attack and score inside, but is always ready to drop it off to the big or kick it out when the help comes.
Caleb Pyfrom Caleb Pyfrom 6'5" | C Omaha Central | 2024 State NE | C | Omaha Central (pictured)
My first good look at Pyfrom this summer came in the 17u division, where he was playing up for Sal Elite. He dominated the glass and showed touch on his putbacks despite the hard fouls and strong contests. He wore out by the end of the game, as many young bigs do, but it was because he was putting so much effort forth on the glass and running the floor.
Joey Vieth Joey Vieth 6'3" | PF Gretna | 2024 State NE | PF | Gretna
Vieth is as competitive as it gets on the court. He takes pride in his defense and his rebounding. Vieth has a big strong frame which he can use to move the opposition with relative ease. The consistency of his finishing needs to improve in order to capitalize fully on his rebounding prowess.
Kameron Dyer Kameron Dyer 6'1" | PF Seward | 2024 NE | PF | Seward
Dyer’s ability to high the point the rebound and sprint the ball up the court himself was a big value to his team this summer. He uses his quickness to his advantage in the open floor when the defense is scrambling. In those situations, he was able to put pressure on the rim and kick it out to the appropriate teammate.
Ty Carey Ty Carey 6'4" | SF Ashland-Greenwood | 2024 NE | SF | Ashland-Greenwood
Good positioning and anticipation on the defensive end stand out when watching Carey on the court. He has a knack for understanding what he can and cannot get away with in terms of help defense. He rarely strays too far off of his man, but when he does he always has a plan for getting back in time. He is really solid at defending closeouts because he can flip his hips and change direction easily.
Ky’Aire Gregory Ky’Aire Gregory 6'2" | SF Omaha North | 2024 State NE | SF | Omaha North
Gregory is one of the most competitive and active rebounders in this class. He is athletic, explosive, and strong. He usually beats the opposition to the spot, but if he is forced to wrestle for the ball he is able to rip it away with his strong paws. Gregory is not the most skilled offensive player, but he knows his role and sticks to it. He sets good screens, rolls hard, and doesn’t take unnecessary risks with the basketball.
