We just updated our 2023 rankings on the website. After a busy summer where Division I coaches were watching these prospects in person for the first time since the winter of their freshman season. This gave a platform for many prospects to show what they could do in front of high profile universities. Some players saw their stock explode once college coaches saw what I’ve been watching for the past year and a half. Guys like Austin Parks Austin Parks 6'9" | C St. Mary's Memorial | 2023 State #154 Nation OH visited almost half the Big 10, Gabe Cupps Gabe Cupps 6'1" | PG Centerville | 2023 State #193 Nation OH now holds offers to Ohio State and many other high major programs. Dailyn Swain Dailyn Swain 6'6" | SF Africentric | 2023 State #122 Nation OH , Lawrent Rice Lawrent Rice 6'4" | PG Wayne | 2023 State #95 Nation OH , Devin Royal Devin Royal 6'6" | SF Pickerington Central | 2023 State OH , Sonny Styles Sonny Styles 6'4" | SF Pickerington Central | 2023 State OH and more were key contributors to All Ohio Red’s run in the Peach Jam. Swain and Rice each have multiple high major offers while Royal holds an offer from Penn State and tons of other mid major programs. Styles received his first basketball offer, he is regarded as a five star recruit on the gridiron. The top of the class is difficult to separate at the moment. Rayvon Griffith Rayvon Griffith 6'5" | SF Taft | 2023 State #21 Nation OH holds the top spot after impressive outings for Taft over the summer. I’m expecting them to challenge for a state title this season. Austin Parks Austin Parks 6'9" | C St. Mary's Memorial | 2023 State #154 Nation OH is at number two, he’s clearly the best big in the class and was always an obvious high major prospect. Gabe Cupps Gabe Cupps 6'1" | PG Centerville | 2023 State #193 Nation OH had a huge summer for Midwest Basketball Club, playing up on the 17U level after winning a state title in March. Dailyn Swain Dailyn Swain 6'6" | SF Africentric | 2023 State #122 Nation OH is at number 4, but he had a great summer as well. I really think he established himself as a guy national media outlets should know and rank. Finally, Lawrent Rice Lawrent Rice 6'4" | PG Wayne | 2023 State #95 Nation OH slips to number 5 but he is still a clear high major target for regional programs. I think other players had slightly more impressive summers to cause them to pass Lawrent, but Rice didn’t do anything where I felt like he needed to drop. All five of these prospects are getting many high major looks and are representing Ohio well on the national stage.
