- Consistency
- Positions: PG, G, G, W, F, F, “Sixth Man” (Total of 7 spots per team)
- If I did not get a chance to watch the team/player and could not find any player updates or statistics it was difficult to properly evaluate the player therefore most likely not on one of the teams.
- Best Attempt to Diversify Between Programs Where it Made Sense
- There will be a 1st Team, 2nd Team, and 3rd Team with a couple of Honorable Mentions with the 3rd Group.
3rd Team
PG: Trevor Mcbride Trevor Mcbride 6'2" | CG Basehor Linwood | 2022 State KS , 6’2, Basehor-Linwood, SSA Elite 2022 Black: Really elevated his play from the spring into the summer starting with an electric June. July McBride put the pieces together with his point guard play on the defensive end and offensive end. Guarded a ton of high level ball handlers from across the country all summer long, shot the 3 ball above 45% in the last two summer tournaments, racked up assists, and was the king of the “hockey assist”, knowing where guys were going to be all the time. Averaged 8 points, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 5 rebounds per game in July.
G: Kernan Bundy Kernan Bundy 6'3" | SG Blue Valley North | 2022 State KS , 6’3, Blue Valley North, Team Yobo: Was solid throughout every tournament in June as he was all of last high school season and this past spring. Brought a lot to the table this summer for Yobo with his defensive approach and toughness. Knocked down shots effectively, guarded some of the top talent on the perimeter, and splashed that sneaky athleticism he has.
G: Kyle Grill Kyle Grill 6'4" | CG Maize | 2022 State KS , 6’6, Maize, Mid Kansas Elite: Could not catch Grill play as much as I would have liked but through following along and the games I was able to watch this summer, Grill was the versatile playmaking guard he is known to be. Great length on the perimeter to pair with solid speed with the ball and good handle. Was a stat sheet stuffer for Mid Kansas all July.
W: Trey Moala Trey Moala 6'7" | PF Paola | 2022 State KS , 6’6, Paola HS, Team KC: Moala was an athletic spark plug for a pretty solid Team KC this summer. Can guard the 1-4 with his athleticism and long arms and was lethal in transition all summer. Can get up to the rim and finish with one or two hands, plays off the bounce in paint effectively, and rebounds the ball at a solid level. Loved his versatility on both ends of the floor he displayed this summer.
F: Noah Simmons Noah Simmons 6'8" | C Valley Center | 2022 State KS , 6’8, Valley Center, Buddy Buckets KS: Was a rock for Buddy Buckets KS this July and played tough in the painted area. Gave the squad a much needed inside presence from the forward spot and he was their most consistent 4/5 in the live period sessions. Simmons has some solid touch, pretty decent paint protection, and good hands to catch passes off rolls or dives.
F: Landon Wagler Landon Wagler 6'8" | PF Shawne Mission Northwest | 2022 State KS , 6’5, Shawnee Mission Northwest, MoKan 2022 (Pictured): The versatile forward was scoring and playmaking monster for MoKan 2022 this year. Is and will be a tough matchup for opponents in July and this upcoming school year. Shot it pretty well, scored the ball effectively during the live sessions, and had his inside/out game going well.
“Sixth Man”: Howard Johnson Howard Johnson 6'0" | SG Junction City | 2022 State KS , 6’1 G, Junction City, SSA Elite 2022 Black: In the last two tournaments really elevated his game to get on to this list. Had a 17 point, 5 assist game and 16 point, 7 rebound, 5 assist game to finish out the summer in the Prep Hoops Circuit. Was a really solid piece to a strong group this summer who beat some really good teams. Shot it from three well, is one of the better rebounding guards I saw all July, and guarded the ball well.
