Here are the top 2022 sleeper prospects to win Conference Player of the Year.
Sean Logan Sean Logan 6'10" | PF Westfield | 2022 State NJ , 6’10 PF Westfield
Logan’s stock has been rocketing up since January and he has the potential for a monster senior season. The lanky 6’10 forward runs the floor hard, setting himself up for easy transition dunks. Logan has a nice face-up game and his range extends past the three-point line. He skies for rebounds on both ends of the floor and is one of the top shot-blockers in the class. Simeon Wilcher Simeon Wilcher 6'4" | PG Roselle Catholic | 2023 State #17 Nation NJ and Akil Watson Akil Watson 6'7" | SF Roselle Catholic | 2023 State #105 Nation NJ are the favorites to take home the UCC Player of the Year, but watch out for Logan throughout the season.
Jack Seidler Jack Seidler 6'5" | SF Marlboro | 2022 State NJ , 6’5 SF Marlboro
Seidler has been an All-Shore player in each of the last two seasons and should make a run for Player of the Year. The 6’5 wing is at his best attacking the basket as he is a good finisher around the basket and does not mind contact. Seidler has a nice mid-range game and can knock down open jumpers on the perimeter. He is a good rebounder and is an underrated passer. Seidler will be the go-to guy for Marlboro, which gives him a chance to take home Shore Conference Player of the Year.
Ethan Simmon Ethan Simmon 6'4" | SG St. Joe's Metuchen | 2022 State NJ , 6’4 SG St. Joe’s Metuchen
Simmon had a breakout summer for the NJ Panthers, which should carry over into the high school season. The 6’4 guard has a clean release on his jumper as he wastes little motion in his shot. Simmon knows how to move off the ball and rarely rushes his shot in the half court. He is a good defender as he moves his feet well and can jump passing lanes to get deflections. Simmon is in store for a big senior season, which could push him to GMC Player of the Year.
Asim Jones Asim Jones 6'3" | SG Paterson Charter | 2022 State NJ , 6’3 CG Paterson Charter
Jones had a strong summer with the Jersey Force and is ready a big-time senior season. The 6’3 guard attacks the basket with a purpose as he can finish in multiple ways around the rim and knows how to draw contact. Jones is more than just a slasher as he has a good release and can hit open jumpers from distance. He is a strong rebounder for a guard and can defend either backcourt spot. Jones is a two-way guard prospect who is ready to lead the charge for Paterson Charter again this season.
Carlos Lopez Carlos Lopez 6'0" | PG Egg Harbor Twp | 2023 FL , 6’0 PG Egg Harbor Township
The Cape-Atlantic League is full of prospects with the ability to take home Player of the Year and Lopez is one of them. The 6’0 lefty guard has a tight handle, which he uses to beat his defender off the bounce and finish around the rim in multiple ways. Lopez is more than just a slasher as he can get hot from distance in a hurry and has a quick release. He makes good decisions with the ball in his hands and is an underrated rebounder. Lopez is a quick, scoring point guard prospect who will lead the way for Egg Harbor Township this season.
