This group is a strong one of PG’s including 4 of the best in the AIA. (All 11 fall into the top-40)
Here are the top-11 PG’s in the 2022 class:
1. Dylan Andrews Dylan Andrews 6'3" | PG AZ Compass Prep | 2022 State #23 Nation AZ AZ Compass Prep
An all-around guard who can score it, defend and make plays for others. At the prestigious Top-100 camp, he was 2nd in scoring. 5th in assists and 4th in steals. The UCLA commit is a 3-level scorer and will try and lead the Dragons back to the Geico Nationals.
2. Milos Uzan Milos Uzan 6'4" | PG Dream City Christian | 2022 State #60 Nation AZ Dream City Christian
One of the top pure PG’s in the West Coast was also repping at the Top-100 camp. He played with 2 other high level PG’s but still managed to be 12th in assists, 16th in scoring and was 6th in steals. The tall PG can shoot it from deep plus play above the rim and is quick on the ball. He was also 5th overall in mins played, showing how valuable he was to his team.
3. Oakland Fort Oakland Fort 5'9" | PG Sunnyslope | 2022 State AZ Sunnyslope
A dynamic scoring lead guard for the Vikings. He flies in the open court with en elite burst and insane bounce. He can pull-up off the dribble from mid to the 3pt line and he will defend on the ball.
4. Nathan Calmese Nathan Calmese 6'2" | PG Mesquite | 2022 State AZ Mesquite
A smooth guard who makes plays and scores it from all 3 levels. He has a burst to get into the lane and shoots it well off the bounce and catch. He should avg close to 20 ppg in the AIA this season.
5. Ahamed Mohamed Ahamed Mohamed 6'0" | PG Apollo | 2022 State AZ Apollo
A two-way pure PG keeps improving. He grew a little and uses his big wingspan to be a pest on the ball defensively. He has a nice pull-up from mid-range and can hit the catch-3. He drives and kicks it like you should as a PG and rarely turns it over versus pressure.
6. Pierce Bazil Pierce Bazil 6'3" | PG Lincoln Northeast | 2021 State NE Phhoenix Prep
Another pure PG who can slice up defenses. He plays with a good pace to his game, knows how to change speeds and will shoot it from deep. His advance passing and precision with his passes makes his game go.
7. Raydon Thorson Raydon Thorson 5'11" | PG Phhoenix Prep | 2023 State AZ Queen Creek
The top pure PG in the AIA throws the ball all over the court to teammates. His timing and court vision are next level stuff. He shot the ball better from mid to the 3 but he will carry his QC team to a playoff birth this season.
8. Lareon Ginnis Lareon Ginnis 5'9" | PG AZ Compass Prep | 2022 State AZ AZ Compass Prep
A two-way ball hawk makes opposing lives miserable. His lateral quickness is about as good as it gets with fast hands and feet. He makes plays plus has improved his deep ball this off season.
9. Dasean Lecque Dasean Lecque 6'0" | CG Bella Vista Prep | 2022 State #207 Nation AZ undecided
A scoring lead guard is very strong. He takes the ball to the basket and scores it or gets to the FT line. He has nice lift on his pull-up off the dribble and is a capable 3pt shooter.
10. Jaden Clayton Jaden Clayton 6'1" | PG Fort Erie | 2022 AZ Dream City Christian
Another pure PG type of guard. He is always looking to facilitate and he rarely turns it over. He can make shots from the perimeter and defend on the ball.
11. Simon Wheeler Simon Wheeler 5'8" | PG Phhoenix Prep Post Grad | 2022 State AZ Phhoenix Prep
An undersized guard is a blur. He may of been the fastest end to end player last year on the Grind Session. He makes plays, scores it from the perimeter and gets to the cup in a blink of an eye.
