The class of 2022 in Kansas is a special bunch and it has created quite the level of competition throughout the state. Even with some big names leaving to play elsewhere, this is still a top tier class.
Top 5 New Additions to the 2022 Rankings
#6 Max Alexander Max Alexander 6'0" | PG Next Level Prep | 2022 KS , 6’ PG, Next Level Prep, Team Buddy Buckets KS (Pictured): One of the better point guards in the class of 2021 has reclassed into the class of 2022 and is attending Next Level Prep to continue to refine his game. The lefty point guard is dynamic with the ball, has extended range from behind the arc, and is getting more explosive on the court. Had solid spring and summer session with both Buddy Buckets teams playing different roles for both squads. Be interesting to see the recruitment once the prep season starts and he gets rolling.
#84 Carter Bergman Carter Bergman 6'1" | SG Basehor-Linwood | 2022 State KS , 6’3 G, Basehor Linwood: The honorable mention 5 guard will be a pivotal role player for a Basehor team looking to make a run in the post season. He is a tough nosed guard who can guard a variety of positions. Moves well without the ball, knocks open shots and big shots when called upon, rebounds at a high clip, and makes winning basketball plays.
#96 Brody Casson Brody Casson 6'6" | PF Olathe South | 2022 State KS , 6’6 Forward, Olathe South, KC Spurs: A solid post defender and terrific rebounder, who will look to help control the paint for South. Has solid hands and can finish around the rim and grew his overall game during the grassroots scene. Should make a really solid tandem in the front court with Corbin Dozier Corbin Dozier 6'5" | PF Olathe South | 2022 State KS this season.
#97 Brett Gibbs Brett Gibbs 6'5" | PF Clearwater | 2022 State KS , 6’5 Forward, Clearwater: An athletic forward with a really solid frame and knack for blocking shots. Really solid post defender and rim protector. Also like the way he screens on the offensive end and his activity. Was an honorable mention 4A player last season.
#98 Eli Hestand Eli Hestand 5'11" | CG Labette County | 2022 State KS , 5’11 Guard, Labette County: Another honorable mention 4A player to crack the rankings. He is a tough nosed guard who has the capability to play both guard spots effectively. solid shooter of the ball, makes a ton of plays in transition, and makes really good decisions with the ball in his hands.
