2022 Prospect Rankings: The Stock Risers
In this article:
There was a lot of change in our 2022 rankings after the 17u season. Here is another group of ten stock risers in Minnesota.
Top Five
Matt Thompson Matt Thompson 6'7" | C Hancock | 2022 State MN of Hancock (West Central Wildcats). Thompson led his team to the Class A state championship game with his inside play shortly after we produced our spring update. After seeing the way he played in the post for Hancock we thought that Thompson could be a scholarship big. If he doesn’t take a scholarship to play football.
Thomas Menk Thomas Menk 6'4" | SG Lewiston-Altura | 2022 State MN of Lewiston-Altura (Minnesota Lightning). Menk had a great junior year leading the Cards to a 14-6 record averaging 18 points a game shooting an eye-popping 43 percent from the three point line. Menk is a 40% Club member. The thought was, can he carry this over to 17U with the Lightning. Menk did.
Ty Creger Ty Creger 6'0" | PG Owatonna | 2022 State MN of Minnesota Select Mantey (Owatonna). I have Owatonna a top ten Class AAAA team coming into the season and there are a number of reasons for it. One is the return of Ty Creger Ty Creger 6'0" | PG Owatonna | 2022 State MN at lead guard. His tough, all around steady play with key to Select Mantey winning 30+ games this year and we think Creger is a player that could be a great D3 lead guard.
Brady Spaulding Brady Spaulding 6'7" | SF Annandale | 2022 State MN of Annandale (Minnesota Comets). Annandale went 18-2 last year with a balanced team. Spaulding took that consistency and gave a similar amount to the Comets from April through July. At 6-foot-6 Spaulding showed that he can compete in the paint with some of the best which has opened eyes of several.
Ayo Taki Ayo Taki 6'3" | SF Champlin Park | 2022 State MN of Champlin Park (Team Get Shook). Taki was the best player off the Rebels bench last winter and will be the best player on the floor for the team this winter. Had a really productive 17u season with Team Get Shook and should carry that over into an all league like senior season.

Carrington Mcneal Carrington Mcneal 6'3" | PG Tca | 2022 State MN of Twin Cities Academy (Gain Elite). McNeal’s ball pressure, attacking mindset to finish or create for others, and good winter shooting the ball helped Carrington make an impression.
Dan Ijadimbola Dan Ijadimbola 6'3" | SG Benilde St Margaret's | 2022 State MN of Benilde-St. Margeret’s (Minnesota Select). Dan has moved from a solid player that would be a good D3 candidate to a guy that Bemidji State has offered and other D2 schools should look in on.
Ty Morrison Ty Morrison 6'4" | SF Deer River | 2022 State MN of Deer River (Wisconsin Playmakers North). I love the all around game of Morrison who has size, skill, and agility. Has a chance to lead Deer River to a special year.
Jacob Butler Jacob Butler 6'3" | SF Minneapolis North | 2022 State MN of Minneapolis North (Minnesota Heat Grow). Butler’s shooting touch, use of his length on defense, ball handling as a versatile wing, and ability to make an impact from several spots has me thinking D2 potential.
Yonis Mohamud Yonis Mohamud 6'2" | SG Shakopee | 2022 State MN of Shakopee (Minnesota Fury Narum). Yonis has went from a nice complimentary player to a guy that the ball could move to consistently and big expectations can be attached to. I think he could have a monster senior year as yet another good Shakopee piece.
