Logan Woods Logan Woods 6'4" | SG Fairfield | 2022 State OH , 6’4 SG Fairfield 2022: Woods just finished a summer playing with Midwest Basketball Club 3SSB, one of the best grassroots teams in the country. Woods was a bench piece for them, but still was a contributor nonetheless. Woods was typically thrown on the toughest defensive assignments when put in the game to help give their starters a little break on that end. Woods is an inconsistent shooter, but makes enough that defenses have to respect him. Woods play with Midwest Basketball Club got him some offers and he eventually decided to stay close to home and commit to Wright State University. Woods will enter his senior season with Fairfield with GMC title aspirations. Fairfield has the potential to be the best team in the Cincy area and Woods will have even more big game experience than he already has. After playing his freshman and sophomore season at a Division IV private school, Woods will have as much big game experience as most top prospects in his class. I believe he’s more capable of contributing at the next level with this big game experience.
Danny Young Jr Danny Young Jr 6'2" | CG Shaker Heights | 2022 State OH , 6’2 CG Shaker Heights 2022: Young Jr is the second committed prospect that is being covered in this article. Young Jr announced his commitment to Cleveland State but included that he would be taking a prep year after he completes his senior season at Shaker Heights. I thought Danny was impressive playing for C2K off the ball. Young was able to give up primary creation responsibility and stick to knocking down outside shots. Young also was able to spend more energy on defense, where he is a solid on-ball defender. I wonder what an extra year with prep school will allow Young to expand on.
Cooper Davis Cooper Davis 6'5" | SG Olentangy Liberty | 2022 State OH , 6’5 SG Olentangy Liberty 2022: Davis was one of the five key pieces for a Nova-Reese squad that impressed me each time I saw them this summer. Davis is a 3 and D prospect with great positional size to play either wing guard position. I thought Nova gave teams trouble with the size across the board, with 6’5 Davis, 6’8 Drey Carter Drey Carter 6'8" | PF Westerville South | 2022 State OH , 6’6 Javan Simmons Javan Simmons 6'7" | C Gahanna | 2022 State OH and 6’7 Josh Whiteside. Davis can space the floor from 25+ feet off the ball. I’ll be interested to see how Davis plays after Henry Hinkle Henry Hinkle 5'11" | PG Olentangy Liberty | 2021 State OH and Andrew Wade Andrew Wade 6'5" | PF Olentangy Liberty | 2021 State OH graduated. Liberty has some pieces to replace what they graduated, but Davis will be the guy defenses key in on all season.
Tyler Ganley Tyler Ganley 6'2" | CG Brecksville-Broadview Heights | 2022 State OH , 6’2 Brecksville-Broadview Heights 2022: Ganley was a prospect that I didn’t get to see in an organized game until this summer. Ganley was a standout at the NEO Spotlight top 20 combine, but that was my only in person viewing until this summer. Ganley and the Brecksville Bee’s have one of the top guard-big duos in northeast Ohio. Ganley showed me more lead guard abilities than I thought he originally had with Brecksville this summer. With him running the show, I think Brecksville could win their conference and make a deep playoff run if the pieces come together.
Owen Murray Owen Murray 6'4" | SG Walnut Hills | 2022 State OH , 6’4 SG Walnut Hills 2022: There weren’t many players who took advantage of the OHSBCA showcase opportunity more than Murray. At 6’4 with his shaggy hair, Murray is one of the best shooters in the entire state. Murray can hit from way downtown but the question will be how well can he defend at the next level. Tyler McKinley Tyler McKinley 6'9" | PF Winton Woods | 2024 State #78 Nation OH will be a huge help to Murray next season, McKinley is a very good passer for his position and will draw double teams often. Murray also has excellent grades, so high academic programs should be all over him.
