Ryan Zan – East Coast Cyclones – 2022:
Zan had an impressive weekend bullying defenders with his thick 6’4 frame. The Cyclones are a well put together team with obvious chemistry. Zan is a high IQ player that can play inside with great physicality. On multiple occasions I saw him catch the ball in the mid post and drive hard straight through defenders to finish at the rim. On the perimeter, he is a plus shooter with great passing instincts. If there is any knock on the kid, I would say he is in between positions. At 6’4 he is an undersized stretch 4. With some development he may be able to play perimeter wing spot. I see Zan as a DII or low DI level talent.
Justin Molen – East Coast Cyclones – 2022
Molen was a good compliment to Zan. The two are similar sizes, both play unselfishly, but Molen brings some different qualities to the table. Molen has a polished skill set from his court vision to his shooting ability, Molen is a college ready wing. While he does lack some of the aggressive physicality Zan showed, Molen more than made up for it knocking down 3s and organizing his team’s offense. With his impressive academics, he will either be a lower level ivy league recruit or an academic DIII will be getting an all conference potential player.
Jayden Desimone – BCRI 2022
Desimone is no doubt a talented guard. At 6’2, he can’t weigh more than 170 lbs, but his slim frame does not stop him from getting where he needs to go. Desimone is very comfortable in ball screen situations. He is able to play at his own pace, keep his head up, and make decisions. His most impressive skill is his shooting. He has the range to stop behind the ball screen and get his shot off or smoothly snake the screen and pull up for mid range pull ups. Jayden is a solid DIII prospect given his size.
Collin Bowman – PSB (PA) – 2023
The minute I sat down to watch PSB vs. Black Bear North, Bowman was diving face first out of bounds to save a ball. Bowman is a hard playing guard with a wide body that he knows how to use. He will drive hard in a straight line then bump defenders off of him to finish. He also will turn his body and back down bigger defenders in the middle of his drive. He is confident and plays at his own pace. Bowman has time to develop and needs it. His jumper is inconsistent and he needs to work on his perimeter defense. With development, Bowman has the tools to be a scholarship level player.
Jack Majerus – Team New England – 2023
Majerus is a special combination of size and shooting. At 6’8 he is a legitimate big man. While he does not have the traditional post game that could be useful at his size, he is quicker than most true centers and can step outside and shoot the 3 with great efficiency. He is a vocal leader on the court and understands how to play as a team. In transition he shows his athletic potential finishing above the rim consistently. With his high academic standing, he is sure to have most of the ivy on him.
