Here’s a look at part one of the bigs rankings, ranking the best power forwards and centers from numbers 25-16.

25) Isaiah Shaw Isaiah Shaw 6'5" | PF Bishop O'Connell | 2023 State VA | 6’5” | North Stafford (#97 Overall)
Shaw is one of the top prospects in the Fredericksburg area and is a natural athlete and versatile player as well. While he has to play as the big on his team he can also play on the perimeter and can score it from multiple levels, he can guard multiple positions and he does a little bit of everything to help his team.
24) Jacob Estrada Jacob Estrada 6'4" | PF Roanoke Catholic | 2023 State VA | 6’4” | Roanoke Catholic (#87 Overall)
Estrada is set to have a breakout junior season at Roanoke Catholic as he’s had a good summer and has a good amount of versatility to his game. While he’s a big man and is strong and physical in the paint he can also step out and make shots from deep, he can put it on the deck and get to the rim and he’s a very athletic finisher above the rim.
23) Logan Hoit Logan Hoit 6'7" | C Meadowbrook | 2023 State VA | 6’7” | Meadowbrook (#84 Overall)
Hoit is still a project at Meadowbrook but he’s improved a good amount over the past year and has transformed his body as well. He plays hard on both ends of the floor, he has good hands and catches tough passes and he has good touch in the paint and if he continues to develop he’ll be one of the top bigs in the Richmond area.
22) Paul Williams Paul Williams 6'8" | C Walsingham | 2023 State VA | 6’8” | Walsingham (#79 Overall)
Williams is a multisport star at Walsingham as well as a very high academic student who could get recruited by a number of schools because of that. At 6’8” he’s a good athlete who can run the floor and is quick and explosive off his feet, he’s a good paint defender and rim protector and he has tons of room to continue to improve moving forward.
21) Eli McCoy Eli McCoy 6'5" | C Eastside | 2023 State VA | 6’5” | Eastside (#75 Overall)
McCoy is one of the top young big men in SWVA and he’s been a starter for Eastside since he was a freshman and has been very productive from day one. He’s strong and physical in the paint and knows how to uses his body to carve out space, he has good touch in the lane and he plays with a great motor and isn’t afraid to do the dirty work.
20) Gibralter Coleman | 6’6” | Flint Hill (#73 Overall)
Coleman will transfer and reclassify to Flint Hill where he’ll join an already talented team, and he’ll provide a good scoring and physical punch in the paint for them. He’s a versatile scorer that can make shots out to the three-point line, he can face up and put it on the deck and he can score it in a variety of ways all over the floors.
19) Kaiden Swortzel Kaiden Swortzel 6'5" | PF Floyd County | 2023 State VA | 6’4” | Floyd County (#71 Overall)
Swortzel is a two sport athlete who has been very good at Floyd County over the past few years as he’s a high motor and productive big man that plays much bigger than his 6’4” frame. He’s extremely crafty around the basket and knows how to play through traffic, he finds ways to create contact and go to the free throw line and he’s a competitor who plays with great energy on both ends.
18) Darrel Johnson Darrel Johnson 6'6" | PF Highland | 2023 State VA | 6’6” | Fairfax Christian (#70 Overall)
Johnson has been a standout at the public school Patriot over the past few years and has opted to transfer and reclassify at Fairfax Christian where he joins a talented team. The 6’6” forward is a bruiser in the paint that plays hard on both ends, is an athletic finisher in traffic and he defends and rebounds in the paint extremely well.
17) Elijah Mitchell Elijah Mitchell 6'5" | PF Oak Hill | 2023 State VA | 6’5” | William Fleming (#63 Overall)
Mitchell is a mismatch four at Fleming who has been a part of a very talented Virginia Nets team over the past few years and made his name known on the Big Shots Circuit. He’s a versatile defender that can guard multiple positions, he’s athletic and thrives in transition where he can play above the rim, he can step out and make shots when he’s open and he rebounds and does the dirty work on both ends.
16) Ethan Ward Ethan Ward 6'7" | SF Landstown | 2023 State VA | 6’5” | Landstown (#59 Overall)
Another high motor forward, Ward is one of the hardest playing kids I have seen in my years and he does it every play and every time he’s on the floor. He’s a big and physical forward that sprints the floor every single play, he fights for every loose ball and rebound in his area and he competes on both ends, not to mention he can finish in traffic and gets to the line a lot where he’s a good free throw shooter.
