Continue ReadingThe list of elite level prospects from southeastern Pennsylvania (and beyond) who are transferring high schools this off-season continues to grow here in July. Since our sixth installment of the 2021 transfer watch series, several more exceptionally talented area prospects have announced they will be changing schools this summer.
Among those highlighted in our seventh review of transfers for 2021 are two high level prospects on the move to Friends Central on City Avenue in Philadelphia.
Reid Belcher Reid Belcher 5'11" | PG Friends Central | 2024 State PA – 5’11” / Sophomore / Friends Central / Combo Guard: The former Harriton High School standout will takes his high level 3-point shooting skills over to City Avenue this fall. Traditionally a spot-up perimeter threat who is on the receiving end of ball reversals and/or drive and kick passes, this spring/summer Belcher has shown an improved ability to score off the dribble, especially with the floater. Last winter Belcher scored a season high 24 points (3 threes) against Springfield (Delco). This is a very nice pickup for Mike Cook (Friends Central’s new Head Coach) and the Phoenix lineup. Belcher plays for K-Low Elite on the spring / summer grassroots circuit.
Colin Bowman – 6’2” / Junior / Friends Central / Wing: A highly skilled wing player with a nearly automatic stroke, Bowman can shoot the three and drain jumpers in the mid-range. Additionally, Bowman possess enough handles to create his own shot. Even with all of his scoring ability, Bowman is an unselfish player who will not hesitate to move the rock to an open teammate. During his days at Upper Merion (PA) Bowman frequently splashed home 4 or more threes in a game and during his sophomore campaign he hit for 30-points in a win over Spring Ford (PA). In addition to transferring to Friends Central, Bowman will reclasss into the 2023 grad year.
Isaac Dye – 6’3” / Sophomore / State College Area / Shooting Guard: Dye recently relocated from Houston, Texas and will attend State College Area HS in the fall. He hooked on with Team Final Red for their July live period tournaments and got off to a fast start. He is an excellent 3-point shooter (4.4 made threes per game during opening 5 days of July live period) who does a great job of stretching the floor for interior players. When he is out in transition, Dye can fill the lanes and finished through traffic. Over an 8 game stretch of play on the July circuit Dye averaged 14 ppg. State College Area HS is getting an outstanding prospect.
Ife West-Ingram – 6’5” / Junior / Abington Friends / Shooting Guard: An athletic slasher style guard with a long wingspan, West-Ingram played at Cheltenham last season. During the 2020-21 season West-Ingram proved that in addition to providing transition scoring he can have an impact at the defensive end. At that end of the floor West-Ingram is a solid weak side shot blocker and excellent rebounder. In addition to transferring to AFS, West-Ingram will reclass into the 2023 grad year. On the grassroots circuit he plays for Philly Pride Gold.
Wisler Sanon, II – 6’3” / Post Grad / Phelps School / Combo Guard: Wisler was four-year varsity starter who scored over 1,200 points during his career at Paul VI (NJ). During the 2020-21 season he was hit for 18 ppg. and was chosen as an All-Area selection. He will transfer to Phelps for a post graduate year. In June at Mid Atlantic Showcase he put up a very strong performance with his new high school squad. There he proved that his 3-point shooting is now a legitimate weapon – multiple games with 4+ threes made. Now his July live period has gotten off to a great start. At the UA Association-Session I (GA), Sanon showed once again that he is an ultra-quick athlete who continues to be one of the best transition finishers scouts and coaches will ever see. His ability to weave through traffic and absorb contact at the rim was second to none at that event. At the other end, Sanon is an excellent on ball defender. During the spring/summer Sanon plays for Philly Pride National UAA.
