Here are a few of the top tandems to watch in 2A:
Sedan: Dameion Hatten Dameion Hatten 6'3" | CG Sedan | 2022 State KS , 6-foot-3 forward, 2022, and Keaton Dickens, 6-foot guard, 2022:
Hatten is one of the top athletes in all of 2A. He is a big, physical, multi-sport star who is just too much to handle for most of the competition at that level. He stuffed the stat sheet with 19.5 points and 2.3 assists at the offensive end, while also producing 9.1 boards and 3.0 steals. He is supported by Dickens, who added 9.3 points and 2.3 rebounds as a junior.
Humbolt: Drew Wilhite, 5-foot-11 guard, 2022, and Trey Sommer, 6-foot-3 forward 2023:
A solid Cubs team from last year returns its two best players in Sommer and Wilhite. Sommer earned 2A honorable mention as a sophomore by tallying 15.4 points and 7.7 boards. He will be teamed with veteran guard Wilhite, who dished out 2.7 assists while also scoring 13.5 points as a junior.
Mission Valley: Keaton Marcotte, 6-foot-2 forward, 2022, and Joel Deters, 5-foot-10 guard, 2022:
The Vikings incur the heavy losses of seniors Dayton and Dawson Logan, but will come back with two experienced and talented seniors. Marcotte is an athletic 6-foot-4 big man who averaged 9.0 points and 5.6 rebounds last year. Deters is an active guard who averaged 11.4 points.
Valley Falls: Avery Gatzmeyer, 6-foot-2 guard, 2022, and Trenton Kraxner, 6-foot-3 forward, 2022:
Gatzmeyer has been the leader of the Dragons for a couple of years now. He lost 2021 running mate Nate Hawk Nate Hawk 6'6" | PF Valley Falls | 2021 State KS , but Kraxner was a significant producer last year and will play an even bigger role this year. Gatzmeyer averaged 15.3 points last year, while Kraxner pulled down 7.5 boards per game.
