Who makes the list? Read below to find out…
Alphabetically, the Top Floor Generals – ND Class B:
5’11 PG Alijah Dixson Alijah Dixson 5'11" | PG Enderlin | 2022 State ND || Enderlin || ECI || 2022
Why? He runs the show for the Eagles. Dixson is the primary ballhandler and he gets his team into the halfcourt offense. He knows when to play fast and he knows when to be patient. Alijah is a quick guard that can get in gaps and find the open man. Dixson is unselfish and he cares about what is best for the team. When he has an open look he can drill the open jumper and Dixson is a smooth finisher at the cup.
6’3 PG Corban Potts Corban Potts 6'3" | PG LaMoure/Litchville-Marion | 2022 State ND || LaMoure/Litchville-Marion || 2022
Why? He is a disciplined player that makes few mistakes. Potts does the force the issue, he takes what the opposing team gives him. Corban is a heady guard that always seems to know when to push it and when to slow the tempo. His length makes him a tough matchup for smaller guards. On defense, he can guard positions 1-4. Corban can score, distribute, rebound, and D-up. The best part about Potts is that he makes his teammates better.
6’0 PG Mitchell Leas Mitchell Leas 6'0" | PG Rolla | 2023 State ND || Rolla || 2023
Why? He is mature beyond his years when it comes to leading a team and putting up big points. Mitchell is an elite scoring machine that can get it done at all levels. This coming year he will be one of the best shooters in North Dakota. Leas is also a cunning defender and a pick-pocket. He has crafty passing skills and great handles. Mitchell drops dimes like few others in ND. He sees the floor well and always has a handle on the tempo of the game. Leas is a playmaking PG.
6’1 PG Trey Brandt Trey Brandt 6'1" | PG Beulah | 2022 State ND || Beulah || Pentagon Schoolers || 2022
Why? This cold-blooded PG will be one of the favorites for Mr. Basketball next season. I expect him to be one of the top scorers in ND. Trey can also handle the ball and set teammates up. Brandt is a one-man press break. He is ultra-competitive and a big-time gamer. Late in the game, you want the rock in his hands. Trey is a great communicator and an excellent leader. He plays with an edge that few have. He may be the best PG in North Dakota regardless of class.
5’11 PG Trevon Rodriguez Trevon Rodriguez 5'11" | PG Oak Grove Lutheran | 2022 State ND || Oak Grove || Next Level Basketball Academy || 2022
Why? He is an energetic spark plug with all of the tools. Trevon has a sweet mid-range pull-up. Rodriguez has amazingly quick hands and his on-ball defense is very impressive. He does a perfect job of directing traffic and getting the Grovers into their offense. Trevon has moxie and he plays with swagger. He routinely beats defenders and he is always looking to set the next Grover up. Look out for his 3-point shooting in his senior season.
6’0 PG Tyson Enget Tyson Enget 5'11" | PG Powers Lake-Burke Central | 2023 State ND || Powers Lake || 2023
Why? For a young guard, he is already a veteran when it comes to playing in big games. Tyson has won a Region Championship and he has played in the State Tournament. Enget is a great shooter from downtown and an overall gifted scorer. He does much more than just score, he does a bit of everything. Tyson handles pressure and gets the Ranchers organized on offense. His scoring ability draws a ton of attention which allows other open looks. Enget is also a smooth passer and electric in transition. On defense, he is sneaky at taking the ball away and he is not afraid to step up for a big stop.
6’0 PG Zach Hendrickson Zach Hendrickson 6'0" | PG Our Redeemer's | 2022 State ND || Our Redeemer’s || ECI || 2022
Why? He will be the undisputed leader for the Knights. Besides being a great ball-handler, Zach is a top-notch shooter. When I watched him shoot last high school season he rarely touched the rim, everything was a swish. His mid-range and 3-point shot is deadly. When Hendrickson is dribbling he keeps opponents off-balance by changing speeds. If the defender gets too close Zach will blow by him, if the defender gives space, Zach will hit the 3-ball. He is also great at getting teammates involved and setting them up for good looks when the defense gives him too much attention.
