Edwim Mercado, 6’ Point Guard, Florida Express Hoops, 2023: Mercado was a vocal leader and displayed a competitive edge all weekend. In the games I was able to catch he was consistently good in the pick and roll game getting downhill and finishing with some nifty finishes. Also was able to hit some pull up jumpers off of space from screens. Strong stocky body type in the back court with solid ability.
Fred Criqui Fred Criqui 6'7" | C St. Marys | 2022 State KS , 6’7 Forward, SSA Elite 2022 Black, 2022: Criqui continues to rise and garner much deserved attention. The big man had a big weekend posting one double double and finishing with averages in the 4 games hovering around a double double. The highlight game was a 16 and 10 performance against Team HIIT. He crashed the offensive glass in a big way, got to his jump hooks, guarded in the post, and hedged really well.
Levi Birkholz, 6’2 Guard, Wisconsin Crusaders, 2023: One of my favorite players to watch all weekend just based on his mixture of toughness, ability, and basketball IQ. One of the best cutters and movers without the basketball on the weekend as he destroyed teams on back door cuts, baseline cuts, and running the floor. Hit big time shots in a multiple OT win and can play up above the rim with his athleticism.
Aaron Potter, 6’3 Guard, Tulsa Hawks Blue, 2022: Another guard I really have enjoyed watching even dating back to the spring. Is a tough and unselfish guard who will pick up 94 feet and cause havoc. Had an eye popping 21 assist game on the weekend which was a marvel. Can get his own as well especially of the bounce.
Kortez Stevenson Kortez Stevenson 6'7" | PF Center | 2022 State MO , 6’7 F, KC Spurs Black, 2022 (Pictured): Like previously mentioned Criqui, Stevenson was just a solid force on both ends of the floor, guarding and rebounding at a high clip. Put up a tough 14 point performance as well and is a forward prospect who packs a huge punch with his size, strength, and quickness. Can step out and hit an open jumper or two as well so possesses some versatility and can take guys off the bounce in the face up game.
