Here are Sunday’s top performances from The Stage.
Jamaree Jackson, Men of Distinction Elite 2022: The senior guard was a hot commodity early Sunday morning. He had a 55-point performance against Upnext Elite 2022. Jackson was dropping bombs from 3-point range, getting into the lane, finishing with force at the rim and making 17-foot jump shots. He was feeling it early and Jackson kept the hot hand for the remainder of the contest.
Jaleb Treat, Southern Indiana Blaze 2023: Treat had his way with the Clarksville Crossovers 2023. The 6-foot-7 forward was playing inside-out. Treat took advantage of the space he was given on the perimeter and made the opponent play with his outside shooting. When the lane was open, Treat put the ball on the floor, put his head down and made his way into the lane. He also showed his ability to play with his back to the basket. Treat was a hand full in the post. He had 15 points in the win.
Casey Kaelin, Southern Indiana Blaze 2023: Kaelin was one of the best shooters on Sunday. He got hot in the second half when he made three shots from deep to keep his team way in front of the Clarksville Crossovers 2023. Kaelin led his team with 18 points.
Dante Favor, Top 1 2023: The 6-6 wing has been huge for his team all weekend. In his team’s finale, Favor made the most important basket in a 62-59 win over the Cincinnati Royals 2023. With less than a minute left and Favor’s team down one, he caught the basketball near half-court, dribbled past two defenders and converted on a layup to give his team the lead for good. Favor finished with only nine points, but all of them were important.
Nathaniel Meadows, STARS Basketball-North: Meadows did everything his team needed him to do in its win over Chapman-North 2023. The 6-4 guard/forward made plays on both ends of the floor. His energy and hustle were unmatched. Meadows has upper body strength, so he didn’t have any issues finishing at the rim each time he drove into the lane. Meadows had 22 points in the win.
Tanner Schumacher, Chapman-North 2023: STARS Basketball-North played a lot of zone against Chapman-North 2023, but it didn’t seem to bother 6-2 guard Schumacher. He was draining shots from 3 and inside the arc to keep his team in the game. Schumacher showed his range late in the second half as he was pulling from 30-plus feet out with the confidence that each shot was going to fall. Schumacher is a prospect worth watching from start to finish.
Nehemiah Ausley, Life Changers 2022: Ausley balled out against the EENG Hoopers 2022. The 5-10 guard was having his way against the gritty guards of the opposing team. Ausley displayed his offensive prowess by making shots from 3, driving and finishing in the lane and slashing to the basket when he was off the ball. The rising senior brings flexibility to any team because of his ability to play both guard spots. Ausley had 30 points in the win.
