Trey Harris Trey Harris 6'4" | SF North Paulding | 2022 State GA , 6-5, SG, SBT 17U
Has become an internet star thanks to savvy marketing by SBT with his high-flying dunks, add to the athletic talent as pretty a 3-pt stroke as there is in the ATL-Metro and we’re seeing the size, gifts and scoring talent all come together in time for his senior season for what should be a solid North Paulding bunch, their spirited Saturday win over Illinois Bears was some of the best team ball I’ve seen them play with Harris as the spearhead, PG Avery Marshall Avery Marshall 5'11" | PG Harrison | 2022 State GA and 2023 SG Demonte Pellot continued their solid backcourt play as well in B’Ham.
Caleb Taylor Caleb Taylor 6'2" | CG Lithonia | 2023 State GA , 6-1, SG, Atlanta Select 16U
Confident, aggressive scorer who’ll be moving over to the always formidable Lithonia program this fall, he gets up and down the floor at a high rate and can seriously cover ground with the dribble drive, did show some 3-pt range as well and really gets up into you guarding the ball, with Chase Lawrence Chase Lawrence 5'10" | CG Lithinia | 2023 GA and Josh Daniels has made for a formidable trio in the backcourt while big man Adonijah Green continues to make strides as a post.
Jalan Johnson Jalan Johnson 5'10" | PG North Cobb | 2023 State GA , 5-9, PG, SBT 16U
More solid, sound play from Johnson as he continues to show off his floor generalship and deep shooting prowess, teams are wary of his driving leaving him open as he comes up the floor for deep 3 attempts, but when closed out on the perimeter continues to use his speed and creativity to cut into a defense, still among the best defenders in the 16U age group at any tournament he shows up at, and seeing all the North Cobb talent for SBT in the 2023 class (Pellot, Terrell Reeves, Kyan Bullock, Justin Patrick, Max Fraser, etc) come together in orange and blue in the fall will be fun.
Deandre Jones, 6-0, CG, Georgia Ignites 15U
Among a bevy of talented players and guards on this exciting Ignites bunch, perhaps the most physically ready to make an impact as a sophomore this coming season, powerful on the attack and he can really explode off the floor at the rim, can handle either guard spot and get you a big scoring night or use his floor savvy to lead the group in assists, together with Aarin Moore, Sidney Flaggs and Braylon Hayes made for a hugely entertaining and skilled bunch who steamrolled EENG out of Nashville when I saw them.
Messiah Graham, 6-2, SG, Atlanta Select 15U (pictured above)
More from this Select organization that is filled with under the radar guys like Graham, big guard for the age group he spent time attacking from the perimeter with a good handle while also playing a little power forward and being a factor in close, showed off deep shooting range and a lot of power when he caught the ball closer in, an intriguing young talent to watch who’s currently home-schooling.
Liam Simington, 5-11, PG, SBT 15U
All kinds of sleeper types on this roster with the likes of North Cobb Christian’s dynamic, emerging forward Holden Cardon Holden Cardon 6'3" | SG North Cobb Christian | 2024 State GA , super sound PG Shaun Smith, big man Bradley Kemp and small forward Brayden Autenrieth, Simington most impressed this tournament to me with his high IQ PG play both as a distributor and scorer, like the way he dissects a defense and sees the game, can really shoot it from 3-land in spurts and has enough quickness to keep you honest, will be yet another intriguing cog for North Cobb to add to the likes of 2022 stud Alex Acosta Alex Acosta 6'5" | PF North Cobb | 2022 State GA and all the 2023 talent mentioned above.
