Max Rentsch 6”3 2022. Huntington HS
Max showed a little bit of an old-school game. Moves well without the ball. Can get to the rim. Displayed a nice mid-range fadeaway jumper off the bounce. Seems to be ready to be the consistent high scorer that Huntington believes he can be.
Dakari Thomas. 5”10. 2022. St. Anthony’s HS
Extremely quick. Makes up for his size with his jumping ability to rebound the ball from the guard position. Outstanding ball-handler and great vision in the open floor. Was able to turn the corner and finish at the rim. Which was something he was working on.
Jalyke Gaines-Wyatt. 5”10. 2022. St. Anthony’s HS
Another extremely quick guard for the Long Island Catholic school squad. Excellent passer. Head up looking to make a play for himself or a teammate. Finished with either hand in transition on the break through contact. Hard to defend because of his ability to change speeds. Has made a conscious effort to limit turnovers and it seems to be working.
Nickx Watts Nickx Watts 6'7" | PF Northport | 2022 NY . 6”6. 2022. Northport HS
Strong post player. Establishes position and holds it. Very good at sealing his opponent and finishing at the rim. Has a nice jump hook with the right hand over the left shoulder. Also passed the ball well out of the post. Improving on expanding his range. Will be one of the top players on Long Island next season.
Jabari Phillips Jabari Phillips 6'3" | SG Monsignor Scanlan | 2023 State NY . 6”1. 2023. Commack HS
Constantly cutting and moving without the ball. Very crafty with the ball in his hands. Can shoot the three-ball coming off of screens or catch and shoot situations. Improving on his overall defense, staying low and in front.
Zy-mel Murray. 5”8. 2023. Central Islip HS
Quick heady guard gets into the lane off the bounce. Knows when to finish himself or pass it off to a teammate for an easy bucket. Working on his shooting range.
Tawshawn Bumpers. 5”10. 2024. Central Islip HS
Excellent handle. Strong going to the rim. Confident player. Hard to knock off the ball. Athletic body. Improving on being more consistent with his shot.
Jaiden Butts. 6”4. 2024. Central Islip HS
Great length on this young post player. Possesses a nice left-handed jump hook. Can finish around the rim on putbacks. Old school three-point play player because of his excellent touch from the foul line. Is working on adding strength.
