With that in mind, I would like to highlight some of the talent in Southwest Florida. The territory has a lot of talent that might get overlooked next to its east counterpart. You can see from my initial piece that the region has talent.
Olsen Henry Olsen Henry 6'4" | PF First Baptist | 2023 FL – First Baptist Academy
2023 Olsen Henry Olsen Henry 6'4" | PF First Baptist | 2023 FL could be in for a big fall season as the top returning scorer for the Lions. The 6-foot-4 forward averaged an impressive 10.6 points and 10.9 rebounds per game while shooting 59 percent from the floor as a sophomore. Henry’s dominance around the frontcourt helped FBA to a 20-3 record. His consistent shooting touch resulted in just two games below 40 percent from the field. Around the glass, Henry grabbed 124 offensive rebounds. His effort and placement on that end likely set up multiple scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates. Jackson McAdams – Community School
2023 Jackson McAdams should be the main guy for the Seahawks next season. Community School went 27-3 a year ago, but lose four seniors, including 2021 Lovenson Xavier Lovenson Xavier 6'2" | CG Community School | 2021 State FL . As a sophomore, McAdams averaged 7.5 points and three rebounds per game while shooting 46 percent from the floor. Moreover, McAdams went 48-of-118 (41 percent) from deep. Along with his shooting ability, he has good size at 6-foot-3 to be a strong two guard. The opportunity is there for him to grab the mantle and make this his team.
Kevin Charles Kevin Charles 6'4" | SF Immokalee | 2022 State FL – Immokalee
2022 Kevin Charles Kevin Charles 6'4" | SF Immokalee | 2022 State FL is a 6-foot-4 guard that helped the Indians to a 16-11 record last season. His long arms and quickness to the rim makes him a very good downhill player. Those same attributes also allow him to grab a high volume of boards on both ends. Charles averaged 16.2 points, seven boards, 3.3 steals and three assists while shooting 55 percent from the floor as a junior. Moreover, he recorded six games in double-figures. Against South Fort Myers(17-9), Charles scored a season-high 24 points and grabbed 12 boards while dishing out eight assists. As you can tell, he is much more than a scoring guard. He is very capable of lifting his team up based on his playmaking abilities in all areas. Charles is also a team captain.
Nick Cassano – Seacrest/Pro Holmes Sports Academy
A lot of upside here with 2023 Nick Cassano. Right off the bat, he is a 6-foot-7 forward with room to grow. It is certainly within the realm of possibility that he can grow a few more inches. Therefore, any added height will add to his value. Cassano is a versatile player that can contribute at the three or four. He is a three-level scorer with nice range from beyond the arc. Furthermore, I like his efficiency and shot selection. Cassano will shoot at a high percentage because of his soft touch and high basketball IQ. Off the court, he holds a 4.5 GPA. He played for Gulf Coast last season but will see more usage at Seacrest. Cassano averaged 5.2 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists as a main bench contributor for the Sharks. He scored a season-high 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds on 66 percent shooting from the floor against Labelle. His strong play this summer should translate into the fall months.
