With their senior year not far away, they will look to improve upon past performances. These 5 players are all playing well and improving this summer in AAU hoops. The question is, who are the best 3-point shooters in SD? Read below to find out…
Top 3-point Snipers (SD) 2022
1. 6’3 G Kalen Garry Kalen Garry 6'3" | SG De Smet | 2022 State SD || De Smet || Pentagon Schoolers ||
This Bulldog has proven he can perform and shoot well on the big stage. Garry is a competitor, gamer, and shotmaker. He is extremely smooth and agile when it comes to shooting. Garry elevates extremely well on his jump shot. He has quick regimented feet with a sharp-looking stroke. When catching and shooting he does a great job of squaring up and doing the work before he gets the ball. All of that equals a stud shooter. Expect a monumental senior season from Mr. Garry.
2. Cael Lundin Cael Lundin 6'3" | SG Tea Area | 2022 State SD G || Tea || SD Attack ||
He is a certified knockdown 3-point shooter. I love how Cael catches readily to fire, he does not have any wasted movement. On his jumper, he rises quickly above the defender for the shot. From the picture above, you can see that Lundin has impeccable shooting form. His release is also in the perfect spot which enables him to shoot in traffic. Cael is spectacular shooting off the bounce when attacking and when coming off ball screens. Lundin has been great this summer and will be amazing in his senior year.
3. 5’11 G Jeff Worth Jeff Worth 5'11" | PG Tea | 2022 State SD || Tea || Scared Hoops ||
We have another elite shooter from Tea. Worth can fill-it-up quickly from long range. He has perfect balance on his jumper with a high release. Jeffrey has a smooth and quick trigger. He is a bright player that knows how to get his shot off in tight spaces. Worth once drilled 8 triples in a single game! Look for this Titan to have a big senior year shooting the ball.
4. 6’7 F Caden Hinker Caden Hinker 6'6" | PF Mitchell | 2022 State SD || Mitchell || SD Attack ||
If you have watched him play, you know that Hinker can shoot it. His 6’7″ frame, long arms, and high release all allow him to shoot over virtually any defender. When Caden gets a bigger forward on him, Hinker will exploit the mismatch. He can stretch the floor and knock down treys when the big man cannot stay with him. His release is pastry soft which often gives him a shooter’s roll. Caden is skilled, smart, and crafty. His senior season will be one for the books. It will be interesting to see where he spends his college years drilling 3-pointers.
5. 6’1 G Tristan Nielsen Tristan Nielsen 6'0" | SG Castlewood | 2022 State SD || Castlewood || Pentagon Schoolers ||
This Warrior is a reputable and respected shooter from downtown. If left open, the 3-ball is as good as in the hoop when Nielsen shoots it. Tristan makes threes when spotting up, in transition, in ball-screen action, and when coming off screens. I like his high release, it allows him to get the shot off when defenders are in his face. I am impressed with how he uses screens and sets up defenders. Nielsen is a prestigious shooter from the 3-point that will blow up in his senior campaign.
