Continue ReadingI made a trip from Georgia to Alabama to see Adidas 3SSB action on Saturday. While I am excited to see even more action on Sunday, I focused on Wildcats Select 16 U and 17 U and also Midwest Basketball Club 15 U. All of our top performers will be from those specific teams.
Roderick Coffee Roderick Coffee 6'4" | SG Spire | 2022 State OH , 6‘4 SG Spire 2022: Coffee is one of the most talented players that I didn’t get to see in the high school season and this far hadn’t seen Wildcats Select 17 U. That changed on Saturday when I saw Coffee and an undermanned Wildcats Select squad against Dream Vision. Coffee was making shots from the outside and producing against a team with a lot of athletes. While he’s gotten some offers from mid major programs, I expect a lot more to get involved in July.
Dellquan Warren Dellquan Warren 6'1" | CG Spire | 2024 OH , 6’1 PG Spire 2024: My first in person viewing of Warren was impressive as the Spire product is one of the most athlete guards in Ohio’s 2024 class. Warren was drawing a lot of defensive attention from his drives and dumping it off to his teammates in positions to score. I’m excited to see Warren again tomorrow against Midwest Basketball Club 16 U.
Kingston Land, 6’6 SF Moeller 2025: Land was very productive playing up on 15 U for Midwest Basketball Club. Land has a great frame for an incoming freshman and was knocking down 3’s at a high clip. Land is one of the most talented prospects that I’ve seen in Ohio’s 2025 class and all the signs point to him being heavily recruited in a couple years.
Isaac McKneely Isaac McKneely 6'4" | SG Poca | 2022 State #59 Nation WV , 6’4 Poca (WV) 2022: A little love for an out of state prospect as McKneely was very impressive for Wildcats Select in a losing effort. McKneely is a knockdown shooter with long distance range. With Sencire Harris Sencire Harris 6'4" | PG St. Vincent-St. Mary | 2022 State #79 Nation OH hurt, he had to distribute more than usual and welcomed the responsibility. McKneely looks the part of an impact player for Virginia early in his career.
Khali Horton, 6’7 PF Cathedral Prep (PA) 2023: The most impressive performance from one of the Ohio teams comes from Horton as the 6’7 wing was dominant against Dream Vision 16 U. Horton had three dunks in a quick span including a poster dunk all over a Dream Vision defender that got the crowd energized. I’d be surprised if a handful of high major programs don’t offer Horton in the next 24 hours.
