Lukas Helms Lukas Helms 6'5" | SF Lincoln Southwest | 2023 State NE (pictured)
Helms started the day knocking a few three pointers, and his game took off from there. He used the threat of the outside shot to attack closeouts, keep the defender on his hip, and keep his dribble alive to probe and find teammates. He mixed pace well and kept defenders off balance. He does a great job of scanning the floor while moving through traffic and driving to the rim.
Justin Bolis Justin Bolis 6'7" | PF Lincoln High | 2023 State NE
The 6’7″ shot blocker was as active as anyone at the Iowa Field House on Friday. Bolis put forth extreme effort on the boards, sometimes giving multiple efforts to secure the ball. He blocked shots, ran the floor, and finished well on his putbacks.
Connor Millikan Connor Millikan 6'1" | CG Platteview | 2023 State NE
Millikan didn’t quite have the bounce he normally brings, but he was still able to finish at the rim at a high level. He had several leak outs to earn his team easy buckets, he rebounded the ball extremely well, and he bothered ball handlers, often picking them up in the back court.
Alec Noonan
Noonan battled hard for OSA National Lindburg, doing everything he can to help them battle back against Kingdom Hoops. He rebounded the ball extremely well, sometimes winning it over multiple opponents who had the size advantage. Down the stretch he forced multiple turnovers on the full-court press with his active hands and acute reading of the ball-handlers eyes. The team ultimately fell 80-76, but not for lack of Noonan’s play.
