Matt Ellington – Gain Elite 17u
The game between Griffin Elite and Gain Elite did not include many misses. Ellington collected several for his team and the rebounding really helped Gain Elite end possessions against a hot-shooting Griffin Elite team. Ellington was decent getting off the ground and used his long arms to catch it at a high point.
Tyson Barrett Tyson Barrett 6'8" | PF Frederick Douglass | 2023 FL – Griffin Elite 17u
Fantastic leaper. Quick bounce and instincts are sound. He could use the techniques of boxing out and general ‘arm-feelers’ to help him. Right now he is simply more athletic than most of his opponents. Currently ranked within the top 20 ’23 players in the state, Tyson looks the part of a late-bloomer and he is already very dynamic now.
Trey Hankee – Titans Elite-Green 17u
Hungry 4-man. Trey rebounded ok within his area. Though not a freakish leaper, Trey’s greatest contributions and the most eye-popping plays all came outside his area when he hunted down long misses and tipped rebounds. His effort set him apart in the Titans final game of the weekend.
Adler Kerr Adler Kerr 6'2" | PG Wilson Central | 2022 State TN – Stars Nashville 17u
Kerr found his way to the rim so often on both the offensive and defensive glass. For a player that loves to pass and excels at scoring, Adler Kerr Adler Kerr 6'2" | PG Wilson Central | 2022 State TN truly is a devoted rebounder too. Great well-rounded player with unbridled effort. An inspiration.
Gavin Bigham – Griffin Elite 15u Hatton
Decent spring. Gavin was a tough eval considering the lack of height from his opponents much of the weekend. Bigham (IN) is worth doubling back on later in the year.
Carmello McNeal – Gain Elite 17u
Carrington McNeal – Gain Elite 17u
Twins Carrington and Carmello played a wonderful brand of basketball during their final battle of the weekend. Facing a balanced and challenging Team Griffin 17u, the brothers helped slow a flood of scoring with their toughness and quick feet. They helped back on the glass by clattering back into the lane. Carrington liked putting his chest in the way and rarely reached for the basketball. His scoring was also tremendous in the comeback.
