Continue ReadingAs I have stated in previous articles, the summer circuit is in full swing and players are taking full advantage. Camps and showcase venues are popping up across the state and allowing prospects to be recognized by college coaches. The reward is players receiving school interest or offers.
Below is a list of players to “bank on” as we move into the summer months. I would expect these players to receive their due from programs in short time.
This piece is a follow up article from yesterday.
Guilherme Tesch Guilherme Tesch 6'8" | SF North Broward Prep | 2023 FL – North Broward Prep
2023 Guilherme Tesch Guilherme Tesch 6'8" | SF North Broward Prep | 2023 FL has the “who’s that” factor when you walk into a gym. He is a 6-foot-8 wing with long arms and a physical frame. As a sophomore, Tesch averaged 12.6 points and 6.1 rebounds per game while shooting 45 percent from the floor. Moreover, he went 23-of-67 (34 percent) from beyond the arc. Tesch’s inside-out scoring ability makes him particularly dangerous. Check out how he’s able to score off the dribble using his athleticism and handle. He can move well for a big and finish in a variety of ways at the rim. Tesch is also a very good passer for a frontcourt player. He recorded 49 assists and has great vision in motion.
Gavin Aydelotte Gavin Aydelotte 6'11" | C Benjamin | 2023 State FL – Benjamin
2023 Gavin Aydelotte Gavin Aydelotte 6'11" | C Benjamin | 2023 State FL has a chance to be special with more seasoning. The 6-foot-10 power forward/center can knock down shots in the mid-range and from beyond the arc. You are not going to find many guys at his size that can score from the foul line extended on a consistent basis. Aydelotte averaged 12.9 points and 6.7 rebounds while shooting 48 percent from the floor last season. At 210 pounds, Aydelotte has good size with room to put on more. He already has the length to defend in the paint and block shots at a high rate. Against Miami Country Day (12-10), he scored a season-high 26 points and grabbed eight rebounds while shooting 55 percent from the field. An increase in his foot speed will only help him moving forward. Check out his highlights by clicking here. Aydelotte runs with Ball4Lyfe.
Tyrieke Sterile Tyrieke Sterile 6'0" | CG North Miami Beach | 2022 State FL – North Miami Beach
I think Tyrieke Sterile Tyrieke Sterile 6'0" | CG North Miami Beach | 2022 State FL has an opportunity for a big senior season. The 6-foot-1 guard/forward averaged 14.8 points, 6.9 rebounds and 2.3 steals last season for the Chargers. Against Northwestern (13-5), Sterile scored 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds (seven offensive) while shooting 44 percent from the floor. He is a great rebounding prospect for his size. Sterile recorded 54 of his 137 total rebounds on the offensive end. Against iMater Charter (13-6), he grabbed a season-high 15 boards. Sterile has also shown the ability to shoot from outside after going 29-of-90 (32 percent) from deep. A slight improvement in his shooting consistency could see him soar.
Jordan Bankston Jordan Bankston 6'2" | SG Gulliver Prep | 2023 FL – Gulliver Prep
2023 Jordan Bankston Jordan Bankston 6'2" | SG Gulliver Prep | 2023 FL lives up to the term and the hype. The 6-foot guard is part of a young Gulliver Prep team that should be fun to watch down the road. Against Miami Southwest (16-3), Bankston scored 22 points and went 2-of-5 from deep. He also scored 22 points while shooting 9-of-17 (53 percent) from the floor against Northwestern. Bankston will also apply a ton of pressure on defense. His quick hands make him a strong candidate for multiple steals and points off turnovers.
Ashton Smith Ashton Smith 6'2" | PG Sagemont | 2023 State FL – Hallandale
2023 Ashton Smith Ashton Smith 6'2" | PG Sagemont | 2023 State FL is a big point guard (6’3) with a high level of athleticism. Last season, Smith averaged 10.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game for the Chargers. Moreover, Smith went 30-of-86 (35 percent) from deep. Against Westminster Academy (9-9), Smith had 15 points on five 3-pointers made. He also scored 15 points and grabbed six rebounds against Mater Academy Charter (21-3). Smith should be more in control next fall after the loss of five seniors to graduation.
