Here is the second team all tournament team.:
Joel Speckman Joel Speckman 6'8" | PF Chaparral | 2022 State CO | 6’8″ Forward | Pluto | Chaparral High School
Speckman could have easily made the first team all tournament team but with only 5 players to choose for each team it was a tough decision. Having said that he is an absolute man child in the paint. He faced several bigs through out the tournament, including first team selection Isaiah Carr, but always held his own. I thought Speckman is exactly what you are looking for in todays game. He rebounds the ball, he blocks shots, he is a lock down defender against other bigs, he finishes in the paint and from midrange, he can do it all. As he is heading into his senior season I imagine that he will be playing at the next level it’s just a matter of where he will end up. Excited to follow Mr. Speckman!
Joey Bilello Joey Bilello 6'8" | SF Thunderridge | 2022 State CO | 6’8″ Forward | PSB | Thunderridge High School
Bilello is a hard nosed modern day forward. He can battle on the inside but has the ability to pull the other teams big out onto the floor and knock down a three ball. He rebounds well, plays tough defense, and can finish both inside and out. He is also a player who could have been a first team all tournament player if it wasn’t for all the talented players. I look forward to watching him develop over the next year and to follow his senior season and to see where he plays ball at the next level.
Bralen Thompson | 6’1″ PG/CG | WKE(Kansas)
Thompson was part of the WKE team from Kansas. He runs the point position for WKE and had the ability to score in a variety of ways. While his drive and finish game was very high level, his 3 point shot is what stood out most to me. At one point in a game his team was down by 15 and Thompson quickly drained 3 shots from way downtown to pull his team within striking distance. He was also a very tough defender and has good size as a point guard. Thompson has the ability to play at the next level and am excited to see where he ends up.
Caleb Shaw | 6’3″ PG/CG | D1(New Mexico)
Shaw is a tall point guard who ran his team with precision. His size really bothered smaller guards, but he still had the quickness to be able to keep up with the smaller guards. He also defended taller players and held his own in part because he had the frame and muscle to do so. With his size and frame he was a threat to finish at the bucket on every possession but has a very nice three point jumper that gave other teams fits. I expect Shaw will be playing on the next level it’s just a matter at what level.
Chase Miller Chase Miller 6'7" | PF Chatfield | 2022 State CO | 6’7″ Forward | Colorado Chaos | Chatfield High School
Miller is a very talented player and could have easily been a first team selection as well. He is a natural scorer both inside and out. He has a nice mid range jumper and can finish with his back to the basket which is somewhat rare in todays game. He was his teams leading rebounder as well and owned both the offensive and defensive boards. Miller also has a knack of effecting shots, while he did block many, he changed shots consistently and forced the other teams to miss and when the did he was in great position to collect the rebound. Miller is also another player to keep an eye on to find out where he ends up playing his college ball.
