However, before we release the Third Team All-Tournament and Honorable Mentions on Wednesday, let’s touch on five players who deserve recognition as under-the-radar prospects coming out of the July live evaluation periods.
Drew Adzia Drew Adzia 5'9" | PG Crown Point | 2022 State IN : 5’9″ Point Guard, Crown Point H.S. 2022/Indiana Game 2022 Premier
Adzia may go a little under-recruited due to being small, but you always have room for a kid with his skill level. He has improved over the course of the summer at getting to the basket and finishing against size while maintaining his typical high-level outside shooting stroke. College programs like shot makers and winners and the 5’9″ Crown Point lead guard checks both of those boxes.
Clayton Bubash Clayton Bubash 6'5" | SF Munster | 2021 State IN : 6’6″ Power Forward, Bosco Institute 2022/Indiana Ice 2022 Gold Gauntlet
There are more decorated players on the Indiana Ice Gold team, but Bubash is an effective forward that makes things happen around the basket. He plays with a tremendous motor, attacks the glass hard on both ends of the court, and finishes well inside. The 6’6″ Bubash is the type of player you want on your side when the game gets tough and physical.
Jalen Bullock Jalen Bullock 6'7" | PF Calumet New Tech | 2022 State IN : 6’7″ Center, Calumet New Tech H.S. 2022/Indiana Game 2022 Blue
Bullock is a solid, strong 6’7″ big man that moves fluidly around the floor. He can rim run on the break, is good as the roll man diving to the basket, and moves his feet well on the defensive end. Bullock can face up and take one to dribbles from the elbows or mid-post and use his strength to finish through defenders. His passing ability is impressive for big man as well. Colleges always need guys with size and Bullock mixes in some nice skill along with his 6’7″ frame.
Koston McReynolds: 6’4″ Guard, Reitz H.S. 2022/IE Blaze Select 2022
The 6’4″ guard out of Evansville is one that I admittedly knew very little about before Prep Hoops 2K21. However, McReynolds played very well in the very first game I watched at the event showcasing good scoring ability from all three levels. McReynolds has a sweet outside stroke and can create his own shot off of the dribble as well. Good athlete. Sometimes kids in Evansville slip through the cracks here in Indiana, but small college coaches need to have him on their list.
Eric Price Jr.: 6’8″ Center, Gary 21st Century H.S. 2022/94 Feet Elite 2022
Usually by April, or at least by the end of May, I will start receiving texts from college coaches asking me the same question, “who is an unsigned big man that we can still get in this class?” Instead of waiting until a couple of months before the first day of school, let’s collectively go ahead and take a look at the 6’8″ Price. He is a massive kid who impressed me with some solid footwork given his large frame. Price even knocked down a three in one game I saw over the weekend showcasing a soft left-handed touch. Small college coaches will want to get eyes on him.
