Terrance Pankey Jr Terrance Pankey Jr 6'0" | PG Ursuline | 2023 State OH (2023) OBC (Ursuline)
Pankey was arguably one of the better slashers from the PG position. OBC’s game was focused on getting perimeter shots up against Minnesota Fury. Pankey led this with putting the ball in his teammates’ hands. Blew by defenders and found teammates all over the perimeter. Poised when he chose to keep for himself and finished around traffic. A more under-the-radar name in Ohio’s 2023 class, events like this continue to be huge for Pankey and his recruitment.
Ajay Sheldon Ajay Sheldon 6'2" | PG Dublin Coffman | 2022 State OH (2022) Midwest Basketball Club 3SSB (Dublin Coffman)
While his teammate Gabe Cupps Gabe Cupps 6'1" | PG Centerville | 2023 State #80 Nation OH stole the show fundamentally on the defensive end, Sheldon really took the title when it came to offensive game. One of the most unselfish players I’ve seen all Summer. Excels in putting the ball in his teammates’ hands and setting up guys with his vision. Makes the extra pass every single time. Extremely quick and makes the correct decisions so fast as well.
Austin Southerland (2023) Midwest Basketball Club-Southerland
Southerland was a prospect I had not seen before Sunday. Showed he can impact the game on both ends of the floor. Lockdown defender on the perimeter. Good lateral quickness moving side-to-side to cutoff drives. Overall offensive game is solid. High IQ and tries to be a scoring option while also putting the ball in others’ hands. Had a nice pump fake in the midrange to get a guy in the air. Shooting threat on the perimeter.
Riley Woods Riley Woods 5'9" | PG Princeton | 2023 State OH (2023) Midwest Basketball Club-Gold (Princeton)
Woods is a name I’d heard of before the weekend, but had yet to see play yet. Played well against a defensively sound Indiana Game team. Great quickness and straight blow-by speed. Has good awareness of where he and teammates are located. Finds guys off penetration and found the paint consistently. Should excel in high school ball with the amount of athletes around him.
Justin Wypasek Justin Wypasek 5'10" | PG Strongsville | 2023 State OH (2023) OBC (Strongsville)
Wypasek demonstrated toughness and physicality for OBC in their matchup with Minnesota Fury. Not the biggest player you’re going to find on the floor only being 5’10, but gritty as hell. Not afraid to use his body on the defensive end to stop the ball or a bigger opponent. Great shooting mechanics and smart in his decision making to pass or shoot. Wypasek impressed me in this showing with it being my first look at him for 2021-22.
