Best Potential- Baye Yoro Diallo 6-7 Moeller (OH) Strange category bet it fits this prospect nicely. Not the best player I saw but has a lot of upside. Has not played a lot of basketball as soccer was his sport of choice. That would explain the fluid movements and footwork. Doesn’t explain the ball handling and court vision. Game can be a little unorthodox at times but that is understandable. Has a ways to go and is getting a late start. But there is a lot to work with.
Special Mention- I’ll stay in the Midwest Basketball Club family and give you a heads up on Kingston Land a special 6-6 2025 wing prospect.
Best Scorer- Terrance McLendon Jr 6-2 2022 Wauwatosa West (WI) (pictured at top of article) While I’m sure DF Elite would like a better result on the scoreboard. They can’t fault effort and scoring output of this athletic two guard. Picking up the slack for an injured teammate. McClendon Jr has filled up the scoresheet this weekend. Posted 16 points in a tough loss to Hoopsync. This was on the heels of dropping 22 points in a tough OT loss Friday. Good shooter with nice easy release. Has excellent elevation on the perimeter and a tight handle that allows him to easily get his spots. Scoring was his thing this weekend but I think he could also play the point when needed.
Best Shooter- Jack Jorgensen Jack Jorgensen 6'2" | SG Depere | 2022 State WI 6-2 2022 De Pere (WI) Has had a big hand in Wisconsin Crusaders Premier’s 3-0 start to the weekend. Especially in the Saturday night victory over NEBC. Had four first half three’s in the contest. Not your typical wiry and long shooter. Has a well developed frame and is a physically imposing guard. Still had a big impact on the game as the defense adjusted to him in the second half.
Best Rebounder- Tymias Williams 6-7 2022 Macomb Dakota (MI) Long and lean power forward has the physical abilities to simply play volleyball at times. Has good strength that you wouldn’t expect from his wiry frame. Good lane agility and moves quickly around the paint. Explosive leaper who gets up to the rim quickly. Basically the equation you would need to be a good rebounder. Completes the equation with good effort.
Best Ball Handler- Jamiir Allen Jamiir Allen 6'0" | CG Wisconsin Lutheran | 2023 State WI 6-0 2023 Wisconsin Lutheran (WI) It wasn’t so much flashy ball handling that caught my attention. It was the was the way Allen glided easily around the court. Simply seemed to moving at a different speed than everyone else. Don’t get me wrong Allen has plenty of the “ball on string” qualities all good ball handlers have. Confident enough to dribble it quite high times. But good enough to get away with it.
