The very best unaffiliated AAU programs, plus several Adidas 3SSB teams, will descend upon the Indianapolis Convention Center in downtown Indianapolis for Prep Hoops 2K21. Here is a list of five players that college coaches, and scouts like myself, will be anxious to watch in the final live period this coming weekend.
Devon Woods Devon Woods 5'10" | PG Pike | 2023 State IN (Pike H.S. 2023/Team Teague 2023 Collins): A lightening quick 5’10″ point guard, Woods pushes it hard in transition and penetrates the defense with ease in the half court. He has tremendous burst with the ball in his hands. As a finisher, Woods is creative around the rim mixing up different finishes with both hands. Woods is obviously a smaller guard, but he gets a lot done at his size. Extremely quick with the ball in his hands.
Kamari Slaughter Kamari Slaughter 6'2" | SG Cathedral | 2023 State IN (Portage H.S. 2023/94 Feet Elite 2023): Slaughter is a long, athletic guard that is excellent off of the dribble. He attacks the basket hard and is very tough to stop end-to-end in transition. Great athlete at 6’3″ that gets to the rim and finishes offensively while also being in the passing lanes defensively. Slaughter is a guard prospect to absolutely get eyes on this weekend in Indianapolis.
Zane Doughty Zane Doughty 6'8" | C Ben Davis | 2023 State IN (Ben Davis H.S. 2023/INB 2023 Elite): One of my personal favorite prospects in Indiana’s 2023 class, Doughty is a legit 6’9″ throwback 5-man. He posts up hard offensively trying to get a deep post catch and then protects the rim with excellent length and verticality defensively. Doughty rebounds outside of his area at a high-level as well. If you need a 5-man in the 2023 class then you need to go evaluate this big man.
A.J. Lux A.J. Lux 6'3" | SG Crown Point | 2023 State IN (Crown Point H.S. 2023/Indiana Game Premier): Lux is one of the better shooters in the state in the 2023 and at 6’4″ has great size to go along with his excellent shooting ability. He handles the ball well and certainly has the size to play either guard spot, especially with his shooting ability. Lux should be followed closely this weekend in Indy.
Jordan Woods Jordan Woods 6'2" | PG Hammond Central | 2023 State IN (Hammond H.S. 2023/Indiana Ice 2023 Gold Gauntlet): Woods is a super athletic 6’2″ guard with great playmaking ability off of the dribble. He sets teammates up by consistently bringing help defense and showcasing good court vision. He also is a high percentage finisher at the rim when he keeps it for himself. Woods is also a very, very good rebounder from the guard spot. It has been a good summer for him so far playing got the 3SSB circuit.
