Continue ReadingIt’s a wrap. The July evaluation live period has officially ended and Prep Hoops 2K21 has come to a close. With teams from all around the country and over 400 college coaches in attendance, the Indiana Convention Center was THE place to watch some hoops this weekend. Here are the top performers from Indiana’s Class of 2022 in the games I watched on Sunday afternoon.
Jack Farnsley (Columbus Homeschool 2022)- Farnsley is a 6’7″ forward that had an excellent weekend for Indiana Ice 2022 Silver Gauntlet. He is very skilled at his size and is your prototypical “stretch-4” man who likes to pick-and-pop. Farnsley showed off very good shooting ability pouring in four 3’s in the first of half of a game on Sunday afternoon. He flies a little under-the-radar due to being homeschooled, but Farnsley is worth checking out for small college coaches.
Jonah Lucas Jonah Lucas 6'0" | PG Lafayette Harrison | 2022 State IN (Harrison H.S. 2022)- The 5’10″ guard played very well all weekend long, finishing his strong play off by dropping a team-high 21 points for Indiana Ice 2022 Gold Gauntlet in their loss to Bates Fundamentals Red. Lucas is extremely athletic, is aggressive with the ball in his hands, and consistently scores it from all three levels. It was a great showing at Prep Hoops 2K21 for the athletic combo guard.
Javan Buchanan (Lafayette Jefferson H.S. 2022)- After moving back to Lafayette, the 6’7″ Buchanan has put together a great month of July playing with Indiana Ice 2022 Gold Gauntlet. He has all of the physical tools you could want and this weekend he really showed off the ability to shoot it from three knocking down five triples in the two games I watched. Buchanan is a really good rebounder as well. College coaches absolutely took notice of him this month.
Rasheed Jones Rasheed Jones 6'6" | SF Arsenal Tech | 2022 State IN (Elevation Prep 2022)- Being 6’6″ and having the catch-and-shoot ability that Jones has is a really good start to being a player that college coaches want on their roster. Jones had a hot start in Team Teague 2022 Collins last game of the day on Sunday knocking in a few threes in the first half. When he gets hot the opponent better watch out.
Ryan Conwell Ryan Conwell 6'2" | SG Pike | 2022 State #155 Nation IN (Pike H.S. 2022)- You really thought we weren’t going to talk about Conwell some more? Once again, the 6’3″ lefty guard made it impossible to leave him off after going for 31 points in EG10’s close loss to Buddy Buckets. Conwell had it going from three-point range knocking in seven from beyond the arc in front of an assistant coach from Virginia Tech that offered him this weekend.
