Zane Doughty Zane Doughty 6'8" | C Ben Davis | 2023 State IN : 6’9″ Center, Ben Davis H.S. 2023/INB 2023 Elite
I continue to call Doughty a throwback big man because of how hard he posts up on the block. I love that he embraces playing around the basket and excelling in his role. Defensively, he has the potential to be a true game-changer with his length and vertical athleticism around the basket.
Omari Ferguson: 6’3″ Guard, Pike H.S. 2022/George Hill All-Indy Woo 2022
Ferguson played very well all weekend long showcasing a nice, lefty outside shot along with his ability to get to the rim off of the bounce. He is a truly explosive athlete with one of the best vertical leaps in the state. A big senior season is coming for the 6’3″ guard.
Omarion Hatch Omarion Hatch 5'8" | PG Michigan City | 2022 IN : 5’9″ Guard, Michigan City H.S. 2022/94 Feet Elite 2022
At just 5’9″, this point guard will fly a little under-the-radar but know that he is tough as nails and makes up for lack of height with his strength. Hatch was excellent off of the dribble the times I saw him and is a pesky on-ball defender. Remember the name.
Shilo Jackson: 6’9″ Center, North Central H.S. 2021/EG10 2022 (Vincennes University)
Jackson had some pressure lifted off of him this weekend by committing to Vincennes University, a premier Junior College, Friday night. The bouncy, long big man continues to improve on the interior. He gets up and finishes off of the rim easily, impacts shots on the defensive end, and is starting rebound outside of his area. There is no level he can’t reach after a couple years of developing in JUCO.
Rasheed Jones Rasheed Jones 6'6" | SF Arsenal Tech | 2022 State IN : 6’5″ Guard, Elevation Prep 2022/Team Teague 2022 Turner
Catch-and-shoot. That is were the long wing makes his money. Jones had a couple of very strong shooting performances when I was watching over the weekend. He also showcases some versatility on the defensive end. It feels like Jones is a little under-recruited at this point.
Cameron Karns Cameron Karns 6'6" | PF Noblesville | 2022 IN : 6’7″ Forward, Noblesville H.S. 2022/INB 2022 Elite
Karns is an under-the-radar prospect that I have liked at different times throughout the summer. He is a pretty skilled 6’7″ 4/5 man that can shoot it out to the three-point line and finish inside. I expect Karns to have a nice senior season be someone that Division III’s go after.
J.J. Louden Jr.: 6’5″ Guard, Pike H.S. 2022/EG10 2022
Since returning from an injury, Louden has made his presence known on the circuit this summer. Louden is a super long, athletic lead guard with impressive ball handling skills at 6’5″. He is also one of the best perimeter defenders that I’ve evaluated this summer.
Nate Matelic Nate Matelic 6'5" | SG Speedway | 2023 State IN : 6’3″ Guard, Speedway H.S. 2023/D1 Indiana 16u
Matelic was an impressive scorer for D1 Indiana over the weekend. He can get it done from all three levels showcasing a good looking mid-range jumper off the dribble. Nice length on the perimeter.
Brandon Trilli Brandon Trilli 6'5" | SF Munster | 2023 State IN : 6’4″ Forward, Munster H.S. 2023/Indiana Game 2023 Premier
Trilli became a personal favorite over the summer because of how skilled he is inside despite being undersized to play around the basket. He isn’t truly a 4/5, more of a wing, but definitely gets his work done on the interior. As he gets a little taller or develops into a knockdown three-point shooter his recruitment will really take off. In the meantime, he is awesome around the basket, plays with a high IQ, and has the strength to dominate mismatches.
Jordan Woods Jordan Woods 6'2" | PG Hammond Central | 2023 State IN : 6’3″ Guard, Hammond H.S. 2023/Indiana Ice 2023 Gold Gauntlet
When it comes to guards that can makes plays off of the dribble, Woods is one of the better ones in the 2023 class. He showcases a nice outside shot at times as well, but he really creates scoring opportunities in transition and diving it to the rim. Woods is athletic and long enough to get up and finish around the rim against size as well.
Matt Zdanowicz Matt Zdanowicz 6'2" | SG Crown Point | 2022 IN : 6’2″ Guard, Crown Point H.S. 2022/Indiana Game 2022 Blue
The long scoring guard went off for 36 points in his first game of the weekend that I was able to watch and it was quite the impressive performance. Zdanowicz is excellent from the mid-range and is an all-around scorer off of the bounce. Keep an eye on him heading into the high school season.
