This team really played well together. Always finding teammates for the good to great shot. Every player on this team could shoot it from deep and they hit a lot of threes. Adding onto their success from beyond the arc is how much size this team has. They range anywhere from 6’8 to 5’6. Only having two players under six foot, they have some real athletic guards in Tranbrock, Mehrman, and Almas. When they didn’t like the look from three they just fed it into 6’8 big man Rhett Kloth. It was awesome watching this team run the floor in transition and knock down three after three.
OSA Crusader 8th National Sieg
Not only did this group of 8th graders go, I believe, 4-1, they did it in a pretty dominant fashion. Nowhere near undersize for there age, the duo between Healy and Zehpier-Murphy was tough to keep up with. The two 2025 guards scored from everywhere on the court. Zehpier-Murphy saw the court very well out of the half court set and the team was knocking down a lot of shots. I was very impressed with how these kids competed this past weekend.
Nebraska United 2024
Last but certainly not least was this scrappy Nebraska United squad. By far one of my favorite teams I watched this past weekend. Only having six players on Saturday and seven on Sunday, this did not stop them from pressing 32 minutes a game. The uber athletic full court pressure was forcing turnover after turnover. As soon as teams got it by the three guards up front they were met with 6’2 Tommy Alsup and 6’4 Kendall Hinton. All of United’s guards could score the ball very well, and as soon as they fed Kendall Hinton, all you could do is sit back and watch him to go work.
