Tommy Alsup | 6’2 G | Nebraska United 2024
My first game of the weekend was Nebraska United 2024 vs. SD Network 2025 Kasib. From start to finish Tommy excelled and scored from all three levels consistently. I fell in love with how this kid played. Alsup got to the basket very easily. He broke his defenders down off the dribble or blew by with one move. He can play the 1 through the 4 and do damage. Tommy utilized his length tremendously on the dribble drive. He has a top tier layup package and is a deep range threat. Defensively had very active hands and had quite a few blocks during the weekend.
Carson Reece | 6’1 G | OSA Crusader 8th National Sieg
To start this off Reece has great size for his age. Reece has exceptional ball handling for how young he is and shot the ball very well all weekend. He broke a lot of defenders off in his first game of the tournament. The big thing about Carson that popped out to me is how confident he was. Reece played with the same swagger all weekend and I believe that is a part of his success on the court.
Eli Johnson | 5’7 G | CYAL Rebels 2024
Johnson is a great facilitator. He makes up for his size with his three ball and love for the mid range pull up. The mid range jumper might be one of the most underrated shots in the game and he took full advantage of defense’s sleeping on it. He demonstrated a lot of control under pressure with the ball and was always looking up the floor. Whenever he was on the floor he was always picking up his man full court which is something you don’t see a lot nowadays.
Taeveon Stevens | 6’1 G | Waterloo Salvation 2024
Taeveon was by far the shiftiest guard at the tournament. He was constantly shaking his defenders off opening up shot opportunities for his teammates, whose defenders had to help off to stop him. Stevens vision on the drive is unmatched. Not only did he find the open man but could find the low block post with a no look dish as well. Stevens speed with the ball was also another notable. With a quick right to left crossover and the combination of his speed, Waterloo had a lot of corner three opportunities.
Ben Bockman | 6’1 F | Iowa Mavs 2024 Grey
The first thing about Bockman that caught my eye was his pure stroke in warmups. Nothing but net one after the other, you knew he was going to come into the game and knock down some shots. Another thing that really stood out to me was his IQ for the game. He picked up on some switches where he had a smaller guard on him, immediately relocated himself and demanded the ball down low. Bockman was always ready for the ball. His hands were always ready to shoot and he stepped in rhythm every jumper.
