The event featured 80-plus players from across the country – some highly-ranked and others looking to make a name for themselves in front of college coaches. In this series we take a look at the top performers and break down their games.
Aidan Shaw, 2022, Link Prep (MO) – Shaw might have been the most college-ready prospect in the gym. The. 6-foot-8 forward was wiry strong with good length and quick first and second jumps off the floor. Shaw showed the ball skills to face-up and rip by a defender for a strong paint finish, but he also wreaked havoc on the offensive glass for second chance buckets. Shaw used his elite athleticism to out-rebound his opponent on the defensive glass and ran the floor with purpose in transition.
James Brown, 2024, St. Rita (IL) – There were few prospects with more potential/upside than Brown. The 6-foot-9 center put on an impressive and fundamental display of low-block footwork and finishing ability. The Chicago-based big man had great feel with his back to the basket and a deep bag of post moves in his arsenal. Brown also showed the ability to stretch the floor with a face-up shooting touch.
Osiris Nalls, 2023, Viewpoint – Nalls showed impressive open court speed and crafty scoring ability around rim protectors. The 6-foot-1 guard looked to push the pace in transition but slowed the game down when needed and made good decisions with the ball. Nalls also displayed catch-and-shoot ability from three-point range.
Broderick Ellis, 2022, Good Better Best Academy (NC) – The 6-foot-8 wing brought out his defensive prowess for this event, especially when it came to rim protection. Ellis showed great timing both when rotating over for help-side and blocking and contesting shots at the rim without fouling. Offensively, the rising senior showed inside-out scoring ability with above-the-rim finishing.
Adrame Diongue, 2022, AZ Compass Prep (AZ) – This 7-footer is a fluid and coordinated center prospect who changes ends of the floor well both offense-to-defense and defense-to-offense. Diongue doesn’t take plays off on either end, is a good rim protector and catches and finishes with touch with either hand around the basket.
