Here are some names.
Jaden Henley, 6-5 2022 G, Colony (CA)
Henley was one of the more intriguing long-term prospects on hand. He has great size and length at the point guard position at 6-5, and makes plays out of the pick-and-roll for himself and others. He’s got some potent shot making and creating ability to boot. And, despite his baby legs, he’s got some burst and sneaky bounce.
Latwan Brown, 6-5 2022 W, R.O.N. Institute (CA)
A bouncy, scrappy wing who plays hard at all times, Brown was a walking steal on defense, and did a good job converting defense to offense. He’s streaky from three, but he got going and made a few in a row in Game 2. Additionally, he is a very bouncy athlete who can finish above the rim through contact.
Sam Ibeh, 6-6 2021 W, Hawthorne (CA)
Ibeh is an intriguing late signee candidate who has a nice combination of size, athleticism and shooting ability on the wing. His athleticism stands out in this setting, but his motor and three-point shooting translate well to the wing at the D1 level.
Patrick Johnson, 6-3 2021 G, Compton (CA)
Johnson was one of my favorite players in the event because his defensive mindset. Most players try to stand out by scoring. He stood out by playing lockdown perimeter defense and playing the passing lanes for steals. His offensive game is a work in progress, but any player with his length, agility and determination on defense deserves a look at the college level.
Lee Hubbard, 6-1 2022 G, Putnam Science (CT)
Hubbard has been a fundamentally sound, pass-first point guard for some time, but he’s added some pop athletically that was on display. He had a poster dunk over a defender in one of his games, and had some pretty tough finishes through traffic. Headed to prep school, he’d be a very good get for an academic school.
Chris Carter, 6-5 2022 W, Shadow Hills (CA)
A “three-and-D” type with world-class vertical athleticism, Carter continues to make strides with his handle and consistency shooting the ball.
Justin Gladney Justin Gladney 6'0" | CG Fairfax | 2020 State CA-S , 6-0 2021 G, NELA Prep (CA)
Gladney scored the ball from every level and put defenders on their heels with his relentless attacking. The lefty has shown marked improvement scoring and driving with his right hand too, which has opened up his scoring to another level.
