Rayvon Griffith Rayvon Griffith 6'6" | SF AZ Compass Prep | 2023 State #78 Nation AZ is widely considered the top prospect in the state and in June and July has added offers to Penn State, Arizona State, Alabama, Louisville, South Carolina and Dayton.
Austin Parks Austin Parks 6'9" | C St. Mary's Memorial | 2023 State #166 Nation OH was a name most Ohio media knew but college coaches just got familiar with him this summer playing with the Ohio Buckets. Parks now holds offers from Ohio State, Indiana, West Virginia, Dayton, Ohio and Toledo. If Parks doesn’t commit soon, I expect even more high majors to come calling.
Lawrent Rice Lawrent Rice 6'4" | PG Huber Heights Wayne | 2023 State #184 Nation OH got some buzz as a freshman and added offers from Penn State, Arizona State, Notre Dame, VCU, Marquette, Louisville, Xavier, Dayton, Ohio State West Virginia and Kansas State since the high school season ended.
Dailyn Swain Dailyn Swain 6'7" | SF Africentric | 2023 State #81 Nation OH was offered by the hometown Ohio State Buckeyes and also added offers from Cincinnati, Arizona State, Kansas State, Marquette, Xavier, and Toledo since May.
Gabe Cupps Gabe Cupps 6'1" | PG Centerville | 2023 State #80 Nation OH added offers from too many schools to count, but some of his more notable ones include Ohio State, Indiana, Xavier, Dayton and Stanford.
Chico Johnson Chico Johnson 6'2" | SG Toledo Central Catholic | 2023 State OH added offers from four in state MAC schools, Ohio, Toledo, Bowling Green and Akron.
Ohio, Kent State, Duquesne, Toledo and Akron have offered football five star recruit Sonny Styles Sonny Styles 6'4" | SF Pickerington Central | 2023 OH in basketball.
I’m not sure any player improved their stock more from Ohio at the Peach Jam more than Devin Royal Devin Royal 6'6" | PF Pickerington Central | 2023 State #49 Nation OH . He adds Dayton, Tulane, Penn State and Duquesne to his five MAC offers from Ohio programs he had prior to his explosion.
Another All Ohio Red 16U standout was Will Maxwell Will Maxwell 6'5" | SF Oakwood | 2023 State OH , he added offers from Ohio, Kent State and Akron. Akron also gave Maxwell’s grassroots teammate Lance Hayes Lance Hayes 6'4" | SG St. Vincent-St. Mary's | 2023 State OH his first and only offer so far.
Kent State, Robert Morris, Appalachian State, Oakland, Hofstra, Toledo and Rider all offered Tyler Williams Tyler Williams 6'8" | C Brush | 2023 State OH since May.
After making it to the state title game, falling to Gabe Cupps Gabe Cupps 6'1" | PG Centerville | 2023 State #80 Nation OH and company at Centerville, Donovan Hunter Donovan Hunter 6'7" | PF Spire | 2023 State OH added offers from Tulane, Cleveland State, Missouri State and Old Dominion this July after playing alongside Tyler Williams Tyler Williams 6'8" | C Brush | 2023 State OH for Indy Heat 16U.
While Midwest Basketball Club was the talk of the midwest at the 17U level in Adidas 3SSB circuit, Indiana Elite 16U was the prominent team from this part of the country. Amire Robinson Amire Robinson 6'4" | SF Buchtel | 2023 State OH is Ohio’s only prospect on that team ( Evan Ipsaro Evan Ipsaro 5'10" | PG New Richmond | 2023 OH and Chandler Starks from Covington Catholic also appear on this squad) and he was offered by Umass, Northern Illinois and Alabama A&M.
If I missed any players with multiple Division I offers this summer from the 2023 class I apologize, but this list seems complete. It will be interesting to see how the recruiting landscape changes for these prospects as they enter their junior year of high school.
