Devon Malcolm Devon Malcolm 6'4" | SF South Medford | 2022 State OR , Oregon Prospects Select (2022 South Medford)
Malcolm will always be known for his high-flying antics and powerful dunks but where he made a difference on Saturday was doing some of the other things on the basketball floor. In the semis, the 6-foot-4 rising senior hit the boards hard and bodied up well against bigger players, getting a key blocked shot late in the game. He also stepped up and hit a huge three from beyond the NBA line. We caught up with Malcolm and will have an update posted soon.
Kavon Bradford Kavon Bradford 6'2" | CG Benson | 2023 State OR , Oregon Prospects 16U White (2023 Benson)
Bradford had things cooking in the team’s first game on Saturday morning, as he was quick to the hoop and scoring around the rim or with his little patented lefty floater in the lane. The 6-foot-2 guard remains one of the quickest leapers in the state and it helped him be a factor on the glass.
Jacob Axmaker Jacob Axmaker 6'0" | CG Stayton | 2022 State OR , FTS Hoops (2022 Stayton)
Axmaker was draining quick trigger threes as he almost always does and always does well. But the 6-foot-1 rising senior was doing just as much creating off of the dribble and using size advantages he had over smaller players to drive past and around them, either scoring in the mid-range or dumping it off to an open teammate.
Moroni Seely-Roberts Moroni Seely-Roberts 6'6" | SF Lincoln | 2023 State OR , Team Fly 16U (2023 Yamhill-Carlton)
The semifinals were a bit more of a grind-it out game for Team Fly and Seely-Roberts adjusted as his focus went more towards battling in the paint than shooting jumpers. He was strong to the hole and got some tough hoops in the lane but where he really made an impression was with his rebounding, especially on the defensive glass.
Chaz Storm Chaz Storm 6'6" | PF Santiam | 2022 State OR , All-Around Players (2022 Western Christian)
We arrived at the facility at halftime of AAP’s morning game and right after play started, Storm scored eight points in about three minutes. The 6-foot-7 forward really has a smooth stroke on his three-point shot and really excels in catch-and-shoot opportunities. He’s also a high-academic student.
