Jack Daugherty Jack Daugherty 6'8" | PF Brookfield Central | 2024 State #311 Nation WI – 2024 – F – Phenom University
Daugherty shot the ball really well during Tuesday’s loss to Team Griffin. The 6-foot-6 forward has some good length and spaces the floor well. Daugherty fed off dribble penetration at a high level, giving his teammates easy passing windows where he could let it fly from deep in rhythm. Daugherty also had a key 3-point play late that gave Phenom a fighting chance. We’ll see how the rest of the weekend plays out, but it looks like Daugherty is ranked too low right now in 2024 and should be quite a bit higher, especially if he shows more mismatch potential, putting the ball on the deck and attacking more.
Nick Janowski Nick Janowski 6'3" | SG Pewaukee | 2024 State #126 Nation WI – 2024 – G – Phenom University
Janowski looks more athletic and twitchy this summer. Building off a really nice freshman season at Pewaukee during a state title run, Janowski has played with supreme confidence during the travel season. Janowski was hitting some tough stuff and got off to a great start in a loss to Team Griffin, scoring 13 quick points. The lefty has a deadly crossover and gets right into his pull-up. Janowski can play either guard spot effectively and run a team as a scorer or facilitator. A sure-fire top five prospect in Wisconsin’s 2024 class right now, wouldn’t be surprised if some Division 1 schools jump in early with scholarship offers this month given Janowski’s size (6-4) and positional versatility.
Danilo Jovanovich Danilo Jovanovich 6'6" | PF Whitnall | 2022 State WI – 2022 – F – Phenom University
Jovanovich had 20 points and six rebounds in a loss to UPlay Tuesday morning. A skilled, versatile matchup problem, Jovanovich created a lot of high quality looks, going 9-of-13 from the floor. The 6-foot-8 junior can pull bigs away from the rim and stretch the floor. He’s also smooth and strong off the dribble. Jovanovich also works really well in the high post as a forward who can shoot over the top or slash to the bucket. Against bigger players, Jovanovich knows how to create separation and can score fading away from the rim.
John Kinziger John Kinziger 6'0" | CG De Pere | 2023 State #257 Nation WI – 2023 – G – Phenom University
Kinziger was just scrappy defensively against Houston Hoops. With Phenom struggling a bit early, Kinziger came up with a couple of steals, ripping the ball away from his opponent and taking it the other way. While he’s only about 5-foot-11, Kinziger is fearless at the rim. He seeks out contact and isn’t afraid to take a shot from a defender while in the air. Facing a bigger, more athletic Houston Hoops squad, Kinziger also really helped his teammates out on the glass and played amongst the trees. A deadly sniper with some sneaky athleticism, Kinziger didn’t shoot the ball well on Tuesday, but did get to the foul line 12 times en route to a team-high 15 points. Kinziger also grabbed eight rebounds and dished out three assists.
Jack Robison – 2024 – W – Howard Pulley
Really like the way Robison shoots the ball. The 6-foot-5 wing is a rangy sniper with an effortless release. Defenders need to hound Robinson who’s got a quick stroke and tons of confidence. While he’ll make his hay as a marksman, there’s a lot more to Robison’s game. He gets into the 12-18 foot range some and score over the top off the bounce. Robison is also a hustle/energy guy that flies around and loves to attack the offensive glass. Having seen him compete at Wisconsin’s advanced camp as well, Robison figures to be one of the top prospects in Minnesota’s 2024 class and at the very least should be a strong mid-major prospect.
Andy Stefonowicz – 2024 – G – Howard Pulley
It was Stefonowicz that got Pulley going against Boo Williams. In an early hole, Stefonowicz came up with a few scrappy hustle plays that seemed to flip the momentum. Once he got going, Stefonowicz just turned it on offensively. Stefonowicz broke down the defense, almost at will, and was able to make plays for himself and others. You could just see the confidence take off as Stefonowicz was hitting tough, contested jumpers with a hand in his face. As a facilitator, he was one step ahead, getting into the teeth of the defense, drawing help defenders, and finding the open man.
Nolan Winter Nolan Winter 7'0" | PF Lakeville North | 2023 State #98 Nation MN – 2023 – F – Howard Pulley
Coming off an impressive showing at the Elite 32, Winter came out guns blazing against Alabama Fusion. Winter scored 14 of the first 18 points for Howard Pulley, going 4-of-5 from 3-point range. The 6-foot-8 forward really worked well away from the ball and the opposing forwards had real trouble sticking with him on the perimeter. Winter had 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting in the first half alone as Pulley was up 20 at the break. When Winter gets going, it really opens up the offense for the rest of his teammates. His pick n’ pop shooting causes miscommunication and scrambling. Fusion couldn’t check Winter the rest of the way as he put up 25 points on 9-of-13 shooting, including 7-of-10 from downtown.
Gus Yalden Gus Yalden 6'9" | PF IMG | 2023 #156 Nation FL – 2023 – PF – CP3
Yalden had 16 points and nine rebounds in a loss to Expressions Elite. Really liked the energy he played with all game. Playing in a track meet, Yalden’s touches can be few and far between at times, but he plays with the same hustle every time down the floor. Rare to see a kid his size sprint both ends, contest shots, take charges, and work the glass. Yalden was just everywhere Tuesday morning. Yalden’s outside shot wasn’t falling, but he still went 8-of-12 from the floor, including 8-of-9 from inside the arc.
