Continue ReadingAs summer basketball is finally beginning to cool off in the great state of Idaho, many players had standout off-seasons while playing for club teams or simply staying in the gym and honing their skills. Across the state, many players will look to improve their skills and abilities for this upcoming season to make sure that they are ready to make a run at the state tournament in March of 2022. In this two part series, we will focus on players from various parts of the state and the leaps they are looking to make. Continue reading for a look at some of the mid-summer Idaho standouts.
Northern Idaho:
Cameren Cope Cameren Cope 6'4" | PF Coeur d'Alene | 2022 State ID , Coeur d’Alene: The Coeur d’Alene Vikings will look to return to their winning ways in the upcoming 2021-22 season with a lot of help from Cameren Cope Cameren Cope 6'4" | PF Coeur d'Alene | 2022 State ID . Cope has a great skill set already, and he has been working hard this summer to develop a more consistent jump shot from outside to pair with his ability to slash to the rim and finish over the top of shorter defenders.
Titus Yearout Titus Yearout 6'3" | PG Lapwai | 2022 State ID , Lapwai: Heading into his senior season, Yearout has already had a great summer on the AAU circuit and will look to help lead Lapwai to another state title. Titus has been honing his ball-handling and passing skills in order to become even more of a threat from the combo guard position. Yearout has a chance to become a big time college player out of the state of Idaho thanks to his work ethic and naturally occurring skills as well.
Central Idaho:
DJ Green DJ Green 5'10" | PG McCall-Donnelly | 2022 State ID , McCall-Donnelly: Green catapulted himself upward in the rankings recently thanks to a great state tournament performance in March. DJ has been working hard this summer to develop his outside jumper and will look to pair his range with a really incredible ability to finish at the rim with ease. Watch for Green to have a breakout senior season.
Jace Mckarcher Jace Mckarcher 5'11" | PG Lewiston | 2022 State ID , Lewiston: Jace has been a really solid option at the combo guard position in recent years for the Lewiston Bengals. Mckarcher has been putting in a lot of time in the gym this summer in order to become a more consistent and aggressive scorer. This added balance will make Jace a really tough matchup and he will be able to impact the game in even more ways than before.
