These handful of days marked the opening weekend of the riveting LIVE period.  More than any other LIVE period in recent memory, this weekend was built up to be something epic.  Co-Vid 19 forced college coaches to miss the entire 2020 spring and summer recruiting cycle as far as watching young talents in the gymnasiums.  This officially marks an end to that struggle and the return of college coaches to the gyms obviously elevates the tension and ambition nationwide.  These players managed to rise above and make their mark in the first day out, Saturday July 10th.

Chandler Jackson Chandler Jackson 6'5" | SG Christian Brothers | 2022 State #71 Nation TN (Team Thad 17u)

Nothing new here. Strong 15 point performance to lead his elite NIKE squad to a  Saturday morning win.

Evan Eursher Evan Eursher 6'2" | PG Webb-Bell Buckle | 2022 State TN (EAB 17u)

The remarkable EE, an EAB veteran, helped his team to 20 points in a narrow 65-62 loss to Indiana Elite. Indiana Elite was one of the earliest members of the adidas family, particularly in the Midwest.  EAB is much newer to the party, founded in 2016.

Cedquavious Hunter (EAB 17u)

Hunter helped the EAB with 8 points against Indiana Elite. Jet-quick. Wonderful passer.

Alex Hyder Alex Hyder 6'3" | SG Cleveland | 2023 State TN (Tennessee Tigers 16u)

Junior Alex Hyder Alex Hyder 6'3" | SG Cleveland | 2023 State TN continued his winning ways, scoring 16 points Saturday morning.  He is having a big weekend.  Lee University evaluated him Thursday night.  Belmont called to ask about him.  Belmont is aggressively recruiting good friend and teammate Jasen Brooks Jasen Brooks 6'0" | PG Cleveland | 2023 State TN too.  Frankly, Belmont and Brooks are farther along.

Somto Cyril (EAB 17u)

Facing a strong Indiana Elite team, a team filled with D1 players, the sophomore forward Somto pulled down 16 rebounds!  His upside is goofy.

Chip Brunt Chip Brunt 6'4" | PG Whitehaven | 2022 State TN (EAB 17u)

Seemingly always quietly productive, Chip scored 8 points in the late afternoon run.  Keep an eye on Brunt. His D1 offers are going to come in throughout the month.  Jacksonville University was his first.  Remember Brunt transferred to Whitehaven.

LIVE Period Outstanding Players (Thursday)

Jarred Hall Jarred Hall 6'8" | SF Lebanon | 2023 State TN (EAB 16u)

Jarred is playing wonderful, but he also is attracting the right kind of attention.  Hall added a N.C. A&T offer Saturday early afternoon.

Bakari Johnson Bakari Johnson 6'6" | SG Freedom Prep | 2022 State TN (Tennessee Tigers 17u)

The nomadic Bakari found a wonderful home with Tennessee Tigers 17u Head Coach Chip Smith.  Coach Smith reports that Bakari is averaging 10 points and 10 rebounds on the weekend.  Johnson is a hidden gem worthy of some D1 looks.
