The event, hosted by legendary operator Gary Charles, featured several Shoe Circuit clubs looking to prep for this week’s Peach Jam. All games were live-streamed courtesy of the 7outz Network, on Channel 2 and Channel 3. The event featured several players capable of cleaning the glass. In this article, we take a look at the top Rebounders from the event.
John Mobley Jr John Mobley Jr 6'0" | PG Wasatch Academy | 2024 State #55 Nation UT 5’11 PG Vegas Elite 2024 – It’s an understatement to say the JMR is a sniper. He’s transformed into one of those marksmen capable of hitting their target from 200 yards away. Mobley doesn’t just make shots he makes them from all angles. Perhaps even more impressive is his accuracy. The 5’11 PG rarely touched the rim on his makes this week.
Jake Payne Jake Payne 6'1" | PG Timpanogos | 2022 State UT 5’11 PG Salt Lake Rebels 2022 – Payne was an underrated marksman at the event. The floor spacing PG was at his best when he had time to set his feet. Payne used good form and a textbook release to bury several 3’s throughout the week.
Dylan Jones Dylan Jones 6'6" | SG Westlake | 2022 State UT 6’6 SF Salt Lake Rebels 2022 – Couldn’t look up without seeing Jones bury a jumper. He has a funky release, however, it’s the same every time and he has excellent follow-through. The wing shooter has received interest from the likes of Idaho St, Utah St, and UVU lately.
Richard Isaacs Jr 6’3 PG Team Why Not 2022 – Isaacs was perhaps the best off the bounce shooter of the event. I like his ability to explode at the defender before stopping on a dime from behind the line. He showed terrific concentration and tough shot-making, as many of his made shots were contested.
Taj DeGourville Taj DeGourville 6'4" | SF Red Rock Academy | 2024 State #203 Nation NV 6’3 SG Vegas Elite 2024 – For my money DeGourville is one of the most unique players in the state. This weekend it was his shooting skill that was on display. When he has time, he is as accurate as they come. The 6’3 wing made several shots off catch and shoot action. When he’s in rhythm, he has the opportunity to get hot, quickly changing the scoreboard.
