2022 Justin Abson Justin Abson 6'9" | PF North Broward Prep | 2022 State #230 Nation FL earned an offer from High Point University on July 15th. The 6-foot-9 forward has dominated defensively for the Nightrydas Elite. Abson has hovered around second in blocks per game on the Nike EYBL leaderboard with over three per contest. Against Expressions Elite, he recorded seven rejections and scored 10 points on 4-of-4 from the field. Abson holds additional offers from Georgia State, Lehigh, Rider, Moorhead State, Florida Gulf Coast, Rider, Appalachian State, Troy, Wofford and Stetson.
2023 Jaylen Carey Jaylen Carey 6'8" | PF Westminster Academy | 2023 State #129 Nation FL earned an offer from Ole Miss on July 14th. The 6-foot-10 power forward scored 29 points and grabbed 14 rebounds for the Nightrydas Elite against Howard Pulley. Carey has built solid momentum after a successful stint at the GBCA team camp in late June. In one outing against Norcoss Georgia, Carey scored 18 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. His ownership of the glass and inside-out scoring ability is why I believe he is well on his way to being the best player in the area. I expect big-time offers for Carey as we move into the fall.
2022 Aidan Abell Aidan Abell 6'6" | SG Westminster Academy | 2022 State FL helped Florida Pro Basketball to a perfect 5-0 record and victory over EG10 in the 17U Grassroots Showdown championship game. The Westminster Academy shooting guard scored 13 points and grabbed five rebounds in the one-point victory. Abell averaged 16 points over the five-game set. Previously against 3D Empire, Abell scored 25 points (per @FloridaProHoops) and knocked down five 3-pointers. He also provided a massive game with 27 points and six 3-pointers against The Skill Factory back on July 8th. Moreover, Abell hit the game-winning three in that contest. He is becoming a better player with each passing day. The 6-foot-5 Abell holds an offer from Stetson University. Numerous other D-1 programs have shown him interest and I expect his offer list to grow in due time.
Abell’s teammate, 2022 Elijah Wyche Elijah Wyche 6'4" | PF Pembroke Pines | 2022 State FL , provided the game-winning basket in the final with a tip-in off a missed free throw. The 6-foot-6 forward averaged 12.6 points and 6.7 rebounds during the showdown. Wyche helped Pembroke Pines Charter to a Class 5A state championship this past season. He scored 13 points, grabbed seven rebounds and dished out six assists in the final against Choctawatchee.
In addition, 2022 Andrew Akuchie Andrew Akuchie 6'8" | PF St. Thomas Aquinas | 2022 State FL (St. Thomas Aquinas) averaged 9.4 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. The 6-foot-8 forward holds offers from Lafayette, Rice and Albany. His high GPA (4.0) off the court is a great sticking point for college programs.
Florida Pro also got a big game from 2022 Pedro Brown (Previous: Grandview Prep) vs. EG10 with 17 points and nine rebounds. The 6-foot-11 center is doing a post-grad at National Top Sports Institute in Orlando. Brown averaged 15 points and ten rebounds for the Pride last season. He has received interest from Lynn University and the University of Tampa.
Team ME has seen three of its players earn offers recently:
2022 point guard Faheim Meran Faheim Meran 6'5" | SF West Oaks | 2022 State FL – UMass-Lowell
2022 wing Gabriel Kincy Gabriel Kincy 6'7" | CG West Oaks | 2022 State FL – North Texas
2022 forward Deshawn Jean-Charles Deshawn Jean-Charles 6'6" | PF West Oaks | 2022 State FL – Southern University
The trio play for Miramar High School and head coach Tramaine Stevens.
