The Jersey Shore Jam Fest was filled with players who had standout games, especially in the back court. Here are the guards who stood out the most on the opening day of the Jersey Shore Jam Fest.
Andrew Stack Andrew Stack 6'2" | SG Madison | 2022 State NJ , 6’2 SG Madison 2022
Stack shot the lights out on the opening day as he was raining in triples all game. The 6’2 guard has a sweet shooting stroke and doesn’t require a ton of space to get his shot off. Stack set his feet before he shot and shot the ball with confidence from distance. He moved exceptionally well off the ball and hit a pair of big free throws late in the game to seal the win. If Stack is able to continue his hot shooting throughout the tournament, Unity Legends has a chance to make a run at the Jersey Shore Jam Fest.
Marc Garraud, 6’0 PG Nobles and Greenaugh 2023
Garraud had a strong showing for Team Spartans 2023 as he was able to show off his skillset. The 6’0 lead guard played tenacious defense as he slid his feet well and forced a couple of jump balls. Garraud ran the offense effectively as he did rarely turned the ball over and got the team settled into their spots. He can shoot the ball either off the dribble or catch and wastes little motion in his jumper. Garraud’s combination of poise and grit is something that should help his stock as the weekend continues.
Fazi Oshodi, 6’3 CG Friends Central 2024
Oshodi had a big-time game for Philly Pride 2024 as he took the game over at times. The 6’3 guard was effective pushing the ball in transition and finished in a variety of ways around the rim. Oshodi was not afraid of drawing contact on his way to the basket and has a good release on his free throws. He made several nice passes throughout the course of the game and forced numerous turnovers due to his quick hands and speed. Oshodi is a two-way guard prospect who should only get better as time goes on.
Qadir Mitchell, 6’2 PG Stroudsburg 2022
Mitchell was the key guy for L+L Rebels in their upset of Rhode Island Elite as he made plays all over the floor. The 6’2 guard attacked the basket with a purpose as he muscled shots through traffic. Mitchell did more than just attack the basket as he also made good passes and made very few mistakes with the ball. He skied for rebounds on the defensive end and forced several turnovers. If Mitchell is able to continue his play from day 1, then L+L Rebels are a dangerous team at the Jersey Shore Jam Fest.
Matt Kinzler Matt Kinzler 6'7" | PF St. Peter's Prep | 2023 State NJ , 6’7 SG St. Peter’s Prep 2023
Kinzler had a solid opening game for the NJ Panthers 16U squad as he was able to display his versatile skillset. The 6’7 wing has a clean shooting stroke as he wastes little motion in his release. Kinzler does not require a lot of space to get his shot off and uses his length to shoot over smaller defenders. He did more than just shoot as he also put the ball on the floor, finished around the basket and made plays on the defensive end. Kinzler has a bright future ahead of him and he showed glimpses of that on the opening day.
