Jared Turner is Trending Up
Jared Turner Jared Turner 6'8" | SF Gonzaga | 2022 State MD has patiently waited for his opportunity to play in front of D1 coaches. He made the most of his time on the court during the past couple of weekends with DC Premier on the UAA.
What a showing from Jared Turner in DC Premier’s win this afternoon. Hit 5 3’s in the 1st half and finished with 26 on 6 3’s for the game. 6’7”, very efficient, always ready off the ball, and is capable of reading close-outs. Really liked his shot selection and decision-making. pic.twitter.com/yH0ivfkEmi

“That was probably my best weekend of AAU in a really long time,” Turner said after session II in Texas. He helped lead DC Premier to a 3-2 record which helped them lock up a #5 seed in Indy this past weekend.
“I feel like on this team I can showcase what I really do,” Turner told Prep Hoops. “I’ve been playing really hard.”
Turner’s high basketball IQ is one of his better traits. It doesn’t hurt playing for your dad, a distinguished high school coach, to bounce ideas off of.
“It’s pretty fun having him as my coach,” Turner stated. “Basketball is a big way on how we connect. We can talk about it all day.”
Turner’s recruitment is on the uptick. Charlotte and Buffalo are two schools that have offered him scholarships since the evaluation period began. He’s also heard from a handful of other mid-majors.
After not playing varsity as a freshman, playing sparingly as a sophomore, and losing his junior season during the pandemic, most D1 coaches have not had the chance to see him grow. Turner hopes his recent play can demonstrate the all-around value he can bring to a college program.
“I’m looking for a school that wants me. That falls in love with me and with my game. I just want to have a really fun college experience playing there, and make brothers for life. Have a connection with the coaches and the staff after my four years there.”
