Brenner is a combo guard who has decent size when he sees primary ball handler duties. He can make plays for his teammates, but is still better at doing so as a secondary ball handler. He can get into the lane and finish through defenders. He is a capable shooter as well with a solid and repeatable stroke.

The best players in the state were in action for the loaded event and here are some of the takeaways from the second session for Team Green.
Jackson Bobo Jackson Bobo 6'8" | PF Lawrenceburg | 2022 State IN (6-7 F/Lawrenceburg/2022)
Bobo has good size and length at the forward position. He sends most of his time around the basket on both ends, utilizing his length. He isn’t someone who seems a lot of plays run for him, but he makes the most off of rebound putbacks and broken plays. Solid passer and good footwork combined with his patience on the block makes him dangerous in the paint. Defensively, he impacts multiple shots. He still needs to add more strength and muscle in order to maintain his effectiveness in the paint.
Andrew Leeper Andrew Leeper 6'6" | PF Homestead | 2022 State IN (6-6 F/Homestead/2022)
Leeper is a long and lanky forward who knows how to use his length. He is a solid defender and rebounder because of it and can use his length and size to shoot over defenders offensively. The lefty has range that stretches out to the three-point line and looks to be more comfortable taking this shots than before. His mid-range ability is excellent as well.
Connor Penrod Connor Penrod 6'6" | C DeKalb | 2022 State IN (6-5 F/Dekalb/2022)
Penrod is a bit undersized for his position but makes up for it with good length. A slimmer and slender build, Penrod is more of a finesse player than pound it on the block. He is a good rebounder and uses his athleticism to make up for his size disadvantage. He’s a smart player and will often times make the hustle plays to give his team the advantage.
Connor Essegian Connor Essegian 6'4" | SG Central Noble | 2022 State #170 Nation IN (6-4 SG/Central Noble/2022)
Essegian has a very good build and frame as an off guard. He’s extremely strong and solid. He is a tremendous scorer off of the bounce and can score at all three levels. He was one of the better mid-range shooters off of one or two dribbles in the event. He can also attack the rim and finish through contact. Overall, he was pretty impressive and one of the better players last weekend.
Cade Brenner Cade Brenner 6'3" | SG NorthWood | 2023 State IN (6-2 SG/Northwood/2023)
Jalen Jackson Jalen Jackson 6'2" | PG Fort Wayne Northrop | 2022 State IN (6-2 G/Ft. Wayne Northrop/2022)
Johnson is a big, physical combo guard who can play both on and off of the ball. He has great strength and a good burst to get into he lane and finish at the rim. He also has good form and a comfortable looking shot from three. His IQ also stands out as he can easily make plays for himself and teammates at will.
Christian Johnson Christian Johnson 6'1" | SG Parke Heritage | 2023 IN (6-0 PG/Parke Heritage/2023)
Johnson isn’t super big or long, but he plays like he is. He can make plays off of the dribble and also showed the ability to be a solid distributor for the rest of his team as well. He always plays with a good effort level and can bully his way into the lane. Defensively, he is an ’in-your-face’ type of player who loves to be a lockdown defender.
Fletcher Loyer Fletcher Loyer 6'4" | SG Homestead | 2022 State #108 Nation IN (6-4 SG/Homestead/2022)
There was no better player I saw than Loyer. He has good size, length and athleticism to play any position 1-3. His shooting is terrific and he can get hot in a hurry. He is terrific on catch and shoot opportunities but also equally effective off of the dribble. He continues to improve his playmaking ability and has now emerged as someone who could play much more on the ball moving forward.
Luke McBride Luke McBride 6'1" | PG Norwell | 2023 State IN (6-1 PG/Norwell/2023)
McBride doesn’t have a ton of size or length but plays extremely hard to make up for it. Very effective off of the ball creating as a secondary ball handler, but also sees a lot of time on the ball. He is a streaky shooter but can get hot in a hurry if the defense slacks off. Good, quick release that allows him to get his shot off at any point.
Randy Kelley Randy Kelley 6'0" | PG Sullivan | 2022 State IN (5-11 PG/Sullivan/2022)
Kelley is an undersized guard but extremely quick and always looking to push the tempo. He is a tremendous finisher at the rim despite his size and can finish around longer defenders. He is a solid passer and uses good vision to pass his teammates open. Solid jump shooter as well, although he is more of an all-around lead guard than strictly scorer.
