Ladavian King- Team Revenge 15’s
Ladavian was a name that people surely knew before the weekend was over. He is a 2025 kid that played up for #HustleInTheRockies proving he belonged by leading his team to an undefeated 5-0 on the weekend. Ladavian is a three-level scorer that put up big numbers in every game; he attacked opposing guards every time down the court forcing them to make quick decisions. Even at his young age, he has great understanding for the game, which he shows through his high IQ reads that resulted in huge breakdowns in the defense. In the coming years, as Ladavian starts high school, it was be interesting to see the strides his game takes, as he continues to work and get better.
Mekhai Davis- Colorado Hawks 15’s
Usually, every tournament, there is a kid or two that comes out of nowhere and shocks you with their play, and Mekhai Davis was mine. Mekhai was a man amongst boys during #HustleInTheRockies, doing whatever it took to get a win. Davis is a natural leader on the court that players seem to just love to play with, but he can score with the best of them. His lengthy frame makes it easy for him to get to the rim at will, which causes teams to play off a little, and that is when he’s able to showcase his shot-making ability. While being a cornerstone for this Hawks team that went 4-0, Mekhai is a player that will continue to grow and get better as he matures.
Brady Beckman- WKE Blue 15’s
Brady Beckman may have been one of the tougher guys to guard during #HustleInTheRockies but not because of his on-ball play. His constant movement on the court made it nearly impossible for defenders to stay in help or be active in passing lanes. When players eventually tried, Brady was able to get to his spots and knock down open shots every time. Making him one of the more dangerous guards in the tournament. Combine that with him refusing to let anyone score on the defensive end of the floor, is why West Kansas Elite was able to go 4-0 in Denver.
Nate Halquist- Wyoming Power 15’s
Nate Halquist is every coach’s dream player, cause he does everything the right way and doesn’t let size get in his way. While his Wyoming Power team went 2-2, losing to the top two teams. Nate’s game remained consistent all weekend. The true point guard gave defenses nightmares without even taking a shot at times, his ability to find weaknesses in the defense was next to none. He caused so much disruption that was it was time for him to score, it looks way too easy. On defense, Nate was an X- factor. While he didn’t have tons of blocks or steals, he made all the right decisions that forced teams into tough spots offensively.
Anthony Nettles- Prolific Elite 15’s
Anthony is a lighting fast guard that teams had trouble adjusting to all weekend. He is a one-person fast break that couldn’t be stopped in transition. Even when teams decided to switch up their defense, Anthony had an answer for it. In three games, he put up numbers of 25,26, and 24 along with 7 3’s in the final game. He proved that he not only can attack the rim at will, but he can also shoot lights out when given a chance. He’s a name to remember.
