Team Future 17U puts on impressive show
Against the Illinois Bears, it was Team Future that lit it up from the start and didn’t slow down. Pike guard Charles Chanin put on a terrific performance to start the weekend, going for 23 points. He has great size on the perimeter and showed the ability to score on all three levels with a variety of different moves and toughness. Fellow guards Davis Olson Davis Olson 6'0" | SG North Central | 2022 State IN and AJ Roseman chipped in 16 points and 15 points respectively, both showing off nice shooting strokes. With their win, it sets up a big showdown with Champaign Heat on Saturday afternoon.
Indiana Elite Blaze 17U has nice opener
IE Blaze got the weekend started on a good note with a 20-point win over Illinois Storm. The player that stood out most was Koston McReynolds. He showed the ability to score at any spot on the court, both on the catch and off of the dribble. He has a really nice stroke and hit multiple 3’s on the night. His ability to combine his shooting ability with an all-around scoring skillset is very nice. Point guard Marco Fitch Marco Fitch 6'0" | PG Bloomington North | 2022 State IN had another good game. The pass-first guard does a great job making decisions and always seems to make the right play, whether it is setting his teammates up for an easy bucket, or using his craftiness to finish.
Indiana Game 2023-3 gets huge scoring output from wings despite loss
Kennth Grant and Leon Grimes Jr. were terrific all night for Indiana GAME in a loss to Illinois TWolves. Combing for 52 of the teams 73 points, Grant finished with 27 and Grimes finished with 25 on the night. Grant is a shift player on the perimeter who likes to use his athletic ability and length to score. He showed good ability to get to the rim and also hit some outside shots as well. Grimes was terrific at using his body to finish around bigger defenders in the paint.
